Lunula picked up her little backpack, and, getting off the wall, went to follow Acacia and Christian, the Beta, inside. Acacia had said to make themselves at home, and Lyula intended to do that - or to look like it at least. She doubted she would ever be able to feel comfortable in another's house, but her prideful side was determined not to let the others know of her unease.
Walking through the Lycan house, her heavy boots thumping on the hard floor, Lyula lifted a clump of her hair in her pale, scared hands. Great. It was densely knotted, the leather - jacketed Lycan sighed. She tugged her lean figers through it, attempting , and failing, to untangle it. Hopefully conditioner and a comb would fix it. Upon entering the lounge room, she placed herself upon one of the cushions, thinking rather childishly, Squishy!and giggled quietly at her immaturity.

Willow Runestone
Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Willow was dragging her suitcase behind her. It was a comforting shade of green. It reminded her of the forest.
For a while after her second parents, Zephyr and Ruby, had been killed, Willow lived in a forest by herself, in the wild. She trained hard to be a fighter, a warrior. She hunted her own food, and made her own dens. She even made friends with a fox. Willow was independent then — but she knew a time would come when she needed to go back to civilization. And she had, at age eleven. She'd stolen money off unsuspecting humans to pay for her education. It hadn't been a good time. But now, the Council had sent her to this new place. The Pack House.
Willow chewed her lip nervously. It was a habit she'd had since she was young. Are they gonna be nice people? I hope they're nice people. Shaking her head, she drew herself up taller. Don't be ridiculous, Willow. You're brave, strong and independent. Don't let them smell your fear scent. She looked up, and could hardly suppress a groan when she saw the wooden staircase. Am I going to have to pull my suitcase all the way up? Willow thought despairingly.
Gritting her teeth, she hauled her luggage up the steps. A pale haired woman and a brunette were speaking, and she saw a head of blue locks and a male enter the Pack House. She heard the brunette one say: "It's nice to meet you, Alphess Acacia. My name is Rayne and, as you've probably already guessed, the Council has sent me here." Ah. So those were their names.
Willow felt awkward and clumsy. When she finally plonked down her baggage, she did the best curtsey she could in her tan knee-high boots, comfy blue jeans and old green hoodie. "Hello Alphess Acacia and Rayne, sorry to interrupt any fantastic conversations you may or may not have been having. Oh, and sorry for eavesdropping. I'm Willow, and I was sent here by the Council to join 'The Pack'."
She paused, waiting for a response. God, I hope I haven't stuffed up already, Willow thought. She knew she'd been a little rude — okay, more than a little — but that was kind of her 'style' of talking. Not knowing what to do, she listened to the background noises of birds tweeting. I'm hungry. I could do with a bird. Hm, perhaps I'll catch some prey later. Or should I just eat human food? That might be easier. Willow still preferred fresh, raw prey over cooked, tasteless human food. She'd always eaten her meat raw, whether under the influence of her first parents, Lycans, or under the influence of her second parents, Vampires. It was only in public that she ate cooked meat. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm kind of hungry," she announced in the way she did when she was at a lost for words. "Could I go hunt? And, uh, if you'd like to come, that would be good too."
OOC: First post! Well, this ought to be fun. Mentioned: Alphess Acacia , @rayne
As she gave her order for everyone to enter the large wooden construct she would remain planted in place upon bare feet, concentrated stare upon still smiling visage as she watched two forms making approach. The female from within the tree's had descended and a new male, taller than herself and only the slightest bit above Christian, moved to face her. "Hello, my name is Everett," the first began, he was well distanced due to the still gathered group entering and she would give him a quick once over as he finished speaking. She made note of the fact his tone was self-assured and proper before she too responded in the same authority as before, "Welcome, Everett. Please do follow everyone else inside."
The sound of the darker haired female, whom had previously been within tree-tops hiding, speaking, brought Acacia's attention to glance over the older Lycan. Rayne, as she named herself, mentioned the Council's invitation for her to join and that she was to provide Salutary skills if required, "We will see where exactly things lie once everyone is settled and skills are seen." She would mention not, that their was another whom had been sent for such role, but why would the Council send a second? Was it because they were to grow in larger numbers than expected? Or perhaps it was a stuff up in the councils arrangements? With a roll of her shoulders backwards she let the thought slip from her mind, the tensed feeling of her Beta drawing her attention for a mere moment as he eyed up his new male house-mate, 'Oh this will be fun,' she toyed in her mind as she returned her focus to Rayne. "Please make yourself at home, follow Christian to the lounge." She assumed the woman could determine whom the male was since there was quite literally only a 50/50 chance of which it could be.
As soon as she dismissed what she expected to be the last arrival, she would re-collect herself and stare at probably the youngest creature so far. "Hello Alphess Acacia and Rayne, sorry to interrupt any fantastic conversations you may or may not have been having. Oh, and sorry for eavesdropping. I'm Willow, and I was sent here by the Council to join 'The Pack'," She spoke somewhat childish and in a normal sense, rudely, but this was overlooked as the platinum haired Lycan listened. "Willow, welcome," she would start off in a more un-intrigued manner, though she offered little else as a certain vibe from the teen put her slightly on edge, "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm kind of hungry. Could I go hunt?" This sizzled Acacia's smile as she allowed faded jade vision to harden, "You may certainly not. Christian will have something planned for the evening and I will not have someone I do not know hunting before I've had a chance to assess them," each word held a light domineering rumble; something she used very rarely and something Christian may or may not have been able to detect from his position within the house at this point.
"I expect you to follow everyone else to the living area," she would offer this part without the rumble, but still held onto the overbearing authority, "I will be right behind you all." She would finish off quickly as she then moved off to the side, those who witnessed the last section would have been shown a more serious side of the normally laid-backed woman, she would let everyone else follow Christian to the room of choosing before she herself would consider entering. Those whom possibly had questions or anything to say would be able to approach in this short time or they would wait until seated.
"You may certainly not. Christian will have something planned for the evening and I will not have someone I do not know hunting before I've had a chance to assess them." The domineering way in which Acacia spoke told Willow she had made a grave mistake. Oh, crap. She shouldn't have spoken like that. In the human world, she may nearly be an adult, but in the Lycanthrope world she was merely a pup.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude," Willow said, the back of her neck heating up and her face flushing pink. She was embarrassed to have been told off, especially in front of what could be a future packmate. "I didn't..." she began, but even as she started she knew it sounded stupid. She didn't what? She didn't realise Alphess Acacia was the Alphess? She didn't realise that Acacia took her hunting grounds so seriously? She didn't know Christian, whoever they were, had something planned?
"I expect you to follow everyone else to the living area," Acacia said. Willow was relieved that she was no longer using that slightly terrifying voice. "I will be right behind you all." Nodding, she grabbed her luggage and entered through the door. She didn't want to make the Alphess angry again. I'm going to have to work hard. I'm going to redeem myself, she decided. I'll be a great fighter. Then maybe, hopefully, this incident will be forgotten.

OOC: Sorry for the posting twice-in-a-row thing... Just excited. Mentioned: Alphess Acacia , @rayne
Genevieve could feel the eyes of the females behind her, which made her skin itch ever so slightly. Not in an aggressive or annoying itch, but an itch that made her feel the need to turn around a look back at the females. However, this feeling was split into two different feelings. The first was from her human counterpart, one that merely wanted to really gaze at the females and enjoy her eye candy. She had gone almost two weeks without company in bed and her body had began to grow sensitive with need. The second feeling however came from her wolf form, with her need to turn around and look them in the eyes. Her wolf side had always been extremely dominant, and now confronted with so many new individuals, new lycans, her wolf wanted to finally test out her abilities.
Genevieve always tried to suppress any wolf instinct, including her heightened senses. Which is exactly what she was doing now, she tried to take short, shallow breaths as she breathed in the air around her. She could smell the underlying scent of wolf surrounding each individual although she ignored the signals being sent to her brain that told her this. There was also another signal that she was denying, one that kept prodding her mind, trying to get her to breath in a deeper scent. These short, shallow breaths seemed natural to her though, not like she was exerting any extra force to keep those breaths controlled. She had been doing this for ten years in an attempt to avoid scents she had never smelt before or scents that she could smell before the host of it arrived.
Her mind though was thankfully distracted by these prodding urges as the Acacia moved in front of her. The lithe woman moved towards her with an outstretched hand, Gen moved in turn, meeting her halfway. Handing her the papers, she backed off again, standing with one foot upon the first step and one on the ground. Her body still turned towards Acacia, her attention still on the person who will hold her attention for the rest of the night. The documents held her resume, documentation of her license to practice medicine, her diploma from her doctorate school, and two reference letters that had come from two professors that had high marks of her.
Gen wasn't sure whether or not she could withstand so any new people in which she was to live with. Genevieve slightly tuned out Acacia as she directed her speech more towards the newer individuals. She used this time to try and gain some more composure, even though her outer appearance was calm, maybe a little tense. The nagging feeling that she should be more in tuned to her sense became stronger.
Gen caught onto the change in tone of Acacia in which she turned her attention promptly towards her. Her eyes narrowed slightly, confused by what laws Acacia was referring to. However, Gen believed that she would catch onto these rules quick enough where she would not have to ask the Alphess for an explanation of those.
When she invited everyone inside, she paused her movements to move first into the home. Something about going inside so quickly made Gen pause, letting the others pass by her. She let their words fall of her as each one spoke casually towards the Alphess. She did not miss that a few other lycans had arrived, but by now Genevieve was becoming more accustomed to their presence.
Finally though, Gen moved, having grown in confidence to move inside the large, welcoming home. As she passed by the Alphess, she gave her a sideways glance, her chin pointed downwards while her eyes roamed the attractive frame.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” She spoke softly, although being this close to the Alphess and the prodding sense in her brain made her take in a deep breath. Which caused the young woman to let out a startled gasp, one that came out slightly strangled as Gen tried to keep the reaction repressed. Quickly though Genevieve turned away from the other woman and ran inside.
In her past Gen had not come into contact with other lycans very often, unless they were council members. Even then, she did not attempt to hit on any female lycans and typically kept her distance. This was the first day that Genevieve was up close and personal with other lycans, especially females she found attractive.
In the past, Genvieve found human females scents to be pleasing, but nothing extraordinary, nothing that made her want to smell more of them. This time though, something about the scent of Acacia sent her inner wolf growling with pleasure. Something made her want to smell more of her scent, to memorize it. Genevieve wouldn’t have none of it though. She would try to maintain was much control as was possible over this side of her; the unwanted side.
"We will see where exactly things lie once everyone is settled and skills are seen." The Alphess's words were spoken like a true professional, although Rayne's attention soon slipped from Acacia to the Beta, the one she had noticed in the tree, and realised his attitude towards the newly arrived male. Of course there was bound to be some kind of rivalry between the two, as Rayne could already tell from the disgusted look upon the Beta's face. "Please make yourself at home, follow Christian to the lounge." Rayne's attention was fixated once more upon the dominant figure in front of her as she gave her a first command. Follow Christian to the lounge. If she was correct, the name of the male who had just arrived was Everett, which she had picked up on her way over from the tree. So Rayne turned her body towards the Beta, which she now assumed his name was Christian, and took a few steps in his direction before coming to a stop in front of him.
"Hello, you must be Christian." She started with a polite smile toying on her lips. "You might've overheard this already, but I'm Rayne." She suddenly noticed that her hair had fallen back over her shoulders, so with a delicate flick of her hand she sent it cascading down her back to its usual place. "I'll count on you to show me to the lounge, then. I don't want to get lost in this big house." She said with an amused yet respectful tone as she threw a glance towards the house.
Everett nodded at the alpha and started for the door, taking a breath to calm his excitement. He took notice in the other male's reaction to him. Everett knew the tensions that male's had with each other, but he did respect the fact that he was the beta. Therefore, wouldn't do anything that would question Christians dominance. Well, on purpose anyways. There were a lot of females, surely Christian could have all of them. Everett half smirked at his thoughts. He shouldn't be thinking about that right now, first he had to show his worth and be fully accepted into the pack. His determination would surely shine through and he trains daily. He was sure that he would be accepted. Everett moved into the lounge with the rest of the lycans, ready to hear what the alpha had to say and to get to know everyone.
Kari stood, still tense and obviously uncomfortable as Acacia addressed the group of lycanthropes gathered around her. All of them seemed to have been sent by the Council just as she herself had been. "It appears my curiosities of when the next Lycans were to arrive have been answered." Kari listened in silence as the Alphess addressed some of the others individually. Her interest was re-caught when the flaxen-haired woman's tone changed from being solemn to being playful and mischievous. "It appears Christian has been outnumbered today, I do hope he doesn't feel to overwhelmed by such appealing creatures." Kari concealed a small laugh at this, the Alphess's calm, playful nature allowing her to relax slightly. She was still far from being comfortable with so many others around, but seeing as her fellow lycanthropes were not at all tense-seeming, she let go of a small amount of her stress.
"Now, I'd like to start of by welcoming you all to your new home," Acacia continued, drawing Kari's attention to the house behind her as the Alphess gestured to it. "We have plenty of rooms available for you to claim as your own, but please do be respectful if it appears occupied then do find another." Kari nodded in acknowledgement to Acacia's statement. Her chocolate-hued eyes turned to the young, brown-haired man she had seen before as Acacia gestured to him in introduction. "Christian here is my Beta, I expect to hear of no one proving disrespectful towards him or any other." The Alphess's words were stern and commanding as she said this. Kari's eyes rested on Christian for a moment longer, flecked with what looked to be envy. She'd stood in his shoes before, and never in her life had she been happier. When she was the Beta of Carter's pack, she had loved every minute of every day. The dirty-blond young woman sighed. She missed her old life and her old pack desperately, and she would give anything to be with them again as their Beta, to have everything back to normal. But there was no going back. Not ever. "I will tell you now, I don't take kindly to those who break our laws. If you do not know these laws, feel free to ask although they should be easy to figure out. We are a family now, and so each of us is to get along." Kari gave the Alphess a small, small smile, concealing none of the sadness in her eyes. If only it was so easily to replace a family once lost.
The beginnings of tears began to sparkle in her eyes, but she blinked them back. She would not allow these lycanthropes to see her so weak, at least not when she had yet to learn to trust them. Kari had just begun to head towards the house when a voice behind her caused her to turn around sharply. Her eyes fell upon a boy with shaggy black hair and green eyes, who had just introduced himself as Everett. Kari gave him a shy nod of greeting. Two more voices joined the mix as well, these one belonging to a brown-haired girl with sea-green eyes, Rayne, and dark-brown haired girl, Willow. Kari once again felt nervousness crash over her. So many... a voice in her head whispered. Shaking her head as if to clear away the uncomfortable feeling that had taken root, she stepped towards the house. The young lycanthrope female followed the rest of the group into the house.
So this is it? He thought to himself, examining the home betwixt the branches of trees from a fair distance away. With attentive ears and curious eyes he took note of the plethora of scents and smells and sights that unfurled before him. There was a congregation not moments before - many women, a few men - and the recent nature of the event was not without its own note.
Perhaps he was late.
Or perhaps the winds had favored him in being a bit behind the main horde. A slight smile broke his rather neutral guise, the tiniest of grins cracking away at an innately stoic facade. He much rather learn about those that went before him than be stuck in the midst of so many new faces so quickly. He rather meet them one at a time, on his own terms, and with things the way they were he was sort of allowed that privilege.
As the sounds of moving feet and chattering mouths dimmed, he neared. Coming from the woods his eyes skimmed the ground, examining footprints and remnants of the paths people had walked. The scents were so delectably fresh... but his focus remained on those bare few that remained after the bulk had ventured inside. There only seemed to be two that lingered outside now, both fair-haired women of adult age. One with a suitcase and a well-fitting attire, and the other, barefoot and certain. An odd dichotomy, surely, but one that created a slight... discomfort to well up within him.
Was he... under-dressed or would he appear proper? He had taken clothes from a man whose size matched his own, and he thus donned trousers and a plain brown shirt that he would not otherwise wear. His boots were large and well-worn (like the rest of him) and he appeared more like a hitchhiker than he did a proper job-owning human being. He was dirty from travel and dusty from the backward paths he took, with nothing in his possession but the pack he had slung over his back.
Though he was uncertain, outwardly he appeared nothing more than the burly, intimidating man he always did as he approached slowly.
“Добрый день.” He said, his voice a low, rumbling sound before he realized that, perhaps the women would not know his mother tongue. “Good afternoon... ma'am.” Stopping where the trees cleared but a few yards from the porch, the wolf seemed hesitant to approach any closer unless invited.
Genesis watched as all the new wolves flooded into the area. One on a motorbike, one from the trees, another male. So many different, unique characters. It was almost a little peculiar how many Lycans at once had been called to the same Pack at the same time. All the conversations going on were a bit confusing, but Genesis merely politely smiled and waited until everyone was done speaking to say her piece. A young girl had come forth, spoken with a sharp tongue and then asked for hunting privileges, which Acacia had firmly denied. At least, for now. An attractive man was the (hopefully last for a while) person to approach. This man had a rough look to him. Many tattoos, hands visibly rough, a head full of hair and a face full of it as well, and a generally well-muscled body gave him a slightly rustic, mountainous look. He said something in a foreign tongue that Genesis seemed to recognize as Russian. However, she did not know the meaning of the phrase he had spoken. Thankfully, he translated to English.
"Good afternoon… ma'am," he spoke, his voice a low rumble from deep in his throat. He stopped a few yards from the porch, hesitating to approach any further.
Genesis, assuming he was not addressing her but rather the Alphess, gave him a little nod and another polite smile. He seemed nice. Comfy, if that was a way to describe a person. Hoping this was not rude, Genesis decided to introduce herself to both Acacia and this man at the same time. The alphess had asked Genesis of her name and she did not want to keep her waiting. Since most of the crowd had gone inside, now seemed an appropriate time to introduce herself. Might as well let this new young man get acquainted with Genesis right now as well.
"I am sorry for pausing, I did not wish to interrupt anyone's introduction to you," Genesis said, mainly towards Acacia. "My name is Genesis." The last sentence was directed towards both of them.
Acacia had taken note of the young females apology, her body growing hotter with possibly embarrassment, as expected, and yet the pale, platinum haired woman offered little sincerity as of yet. The girl had earned the tone given and leading stature made it clear she would not bend to any soft spoken acknowledgement. She would watch as Willow soon ventured inside, taking her luggage with her as she seemed to understand it wasn't the best time for any further disobedience. As others filed around and filtered through the double doors she would let a relaxed smile take hold once more, the brushing proximity of one intriguing character in that moment making her offer a side-ways glance, jade eyes observing the freckled creature. Her nose drawing in the faintest of breaths as she detected natural odor of both vanilla and, if she wasn't mistaken, possibly cherries. "It's a pleasure to meet you," Genevieve spoke, her words silky and somewhat hushed before Ace heard quick suck of air to be taken in followed by what sounded like an awkward chocking gasp. She would move to assess the dread-locked Lycan, but before she could ask if she was alright, she was already running inside.
She'd have started her preparation to follow the rest, her eyes scanning over anyone whom may of remained before, unexpectedly another would emerge from the forest. He was tall, burly as he closed large distance between them, halting a ways away before speaking in known tongue, "Добрый день." This though was understood by the well assured woman, her head lifted as she listened to him repeat himself in a more understandable manner if at all she did not catch the first part. "добро пожаловат," she would first begin in clearly Russian accept, slightly rusty in her pronunciation but still she knew what was necessary from her time with her birth pack and almost as quickly as the accent arrived it would slip away to her usual speak, "What is your name?" This simple question was soon enough answered by the only other left upon porches span, "I am sorry for pausing, I did not wish to interrupt anyone's introduction to you. My name is Genesis."
With only a small dip of her skull in response to the female she remained fixated upon the well-journeyed brute, he looked like he preferred a less social life, by the scraggly hair and bear growing from his chin she merely made her own thought-based assumptions. She would eventually turn slightly to the home, after the third male offered his name that was, and spoke in light get still firm tone, "Please do join me and the others, in the living area." Peering between the two as she spoke her final invitation she would eventually begin moving, long strides carrying her through the forest cabin home, she would deny no one into her home thus far. She needed to know what they could offer and casting them away upon first sight would prove nothing.
It had been a rather long spell of time since Rux had found himself in the middle of so much. While there was a level of solace in the fact that these were wolves like himself, there was also an acknowledgment that.. they might not really be like him at all. He did not live in the throes of the technological age. In fact, his life was remarkably simple and his existence shockingly bare. He owned very little. He traveled very much. He did not go to markets for his vittles. He caught it, he killed it, he cleaned it, and he cooked it... and if he did not, he did not eat.
But being different might not be so awful. And new faces weren't always so bad. Overwhelming, yes, but not bad. As he looked to Genesis as she spoke - noticing her polite manner of including him in something that he may or may not deserve - Rux recalled the great joy of being in the presence of other beings he did not consider prey or adversaries.
… Maybe this... house... would be a new home. And maybe these women, new... housemates. And if that was the case, could he complain? At Genesis introduction Rux dipped his head in polite recognition, but what relaxed his tense, formal demeanor was the hearing of something familiar. His dark eyes had settled on what he assumed to be the Alpha, listening to her speech beyond the obvious iteration of Russian words.
He had not expected a welcome that included familiar sounds. "моя благодарность," he replied, the smallest of smiles slipping through and warming his otherwise gruff words. "I am Rux," he glanced to Genesis, giving her a more evident grin to ease the possibility that she might not understand the warmth of his gratitude when it was spoken in Russian. He then took up the rear, following behind the women as they ventured into the house (presuming they both did, of course).
Genesis listened in, standing quietly as Rux and Acacia exchanged few Russian words. She gave a small smile and listened to the sounds of the birds in the trees and the breeze gently scraping leaf against branch and branch against fellow branch. She tuned back in when she heard the sound of more familiar words, English words that she could understand.
"Please do join me and the others, in the living area," Acacia's almost familiar voice floated to Genesis' ears. With a small pause hardly noticeable by anyone, Genesis took a moment to imagine the inside of the house. Comfy, earthy, homely, and all the same strange and unfamiliar. Genesis did not know this town nor this forest nor these wolves really, so as a result she did not know what to expect. She would just have to go and see, and soon enough, before she knew it, this place would be home and she would be familiar with everything. If anything, the strangeness and unfamiliar feeling of this place invited Genesis. She loved exploring and a new fresh environment, and though she did love the comforts of home, this was the closest thing she had to home. No, it was home.
Coming back to reality after those quick thoughts, maybe two seconds, Genesis smiled and nodded. Her head turned in it's usual polite, sharp, small manner to face Rux slightly. He spoke more words in his Russian tongue, before grinning at Genesis a bit and translating.
"I am Rux," the man spoke, making Genesis chuckle. She had only ever known one language: English. Two, if you count ASL. Traveling had always been difficult, in a funny kind of way. Seeing pale-haired, neat, polite Genesis attempt to talk in her short, clipped English to someone who knew no English was quite the funny thing. She could gesture and repeat all she wanted but it was hard to get them to understand what she was saying.
"Nice to meet you, Rux," Genesis smiled back at him, and followed him and the Alphess into the pack house.
As tempting as it was to end up in the kitchen, he slipped past it all the same. Instead he returned to the outside world where he felt more comfortable with the lack of constructed walls and absence of stuff. Out here he saw the woods from a new perspective, peering outward into the tangle of trunks and greenery.
Truthfully he had been sent here for one purpose and one purpose alone. The vampires. After having spent almost five centuries tracking, hunting, and killing them it was no shy thing to admit he was good at it. If nearly three centuries of it had been spent mostly slaying them alone with the occasional inclusion of ally forces, than that ought reaffirm his skill as well. Bred from other vampire-killers, his pedigree and his destiny had been certain.
And his future remained as certain. Those like him did not grow old and retire. Nay. They grew old and died like old warriors and hunters often do as they - weak - fall victim to the prey they hunted for years effortlessly. Twas the manner of things.
Taking a cigarette out and lighting it, Rux began to smoke on the porch.
Phoenix Riley
Someone once said, 'Where there's a will there's a way.' If I'm not dead yet, there's always a way.
The hot day was quickly becoming cooler as night fell. Phoenix navigated her Yamaha R6 silently through the woods, she loved how quiet the engine was, not something you see often in a motorcycle. She pulls up to the driveway of the house belonging to this pack. She pulls off her helmet, letting her long blonde braid fall out, and replaces it with her signature beanie. She shoulders her duffle bag and dismounts, her helmet in one hand with her keys. Her electric blue eyes scanned the area, just as her phone rang. She looked at the Caller ID and saw that it was labeled as "Beta C." Her former Beta, Christian was calling. After their rough start, it wasn't long until they became good friends. She probably needs to change the name since he isn't her Beta. She answers the phone and walks towards the pack house, pausing at the base of the stairs. She makes sure to keep her voice quiet as there is someone outside who most likely wouldn't be interested in her conversation.
'I just don't see how it's fair that you have to go and be subjected to a new pack.' She sighs, they'd had this conversation many times since she'd announced she was being sent out."I know Christian but I don't have a choice. You know the Council doesn't take no for an answer." It is quiet on the other line and she begins to make her way up the stairs. Halfway through, he speaks, but she continues walking. 'Sorry for snapping at you, I just am gonna miss you. You were the best Delta a pack could ask for.' She laughs at this, now at the top of the porch and seeing another person on the far side. "Only because I was far more laid back than you. Even Sienna agrees." 'You could always just bail, get a new identity and come home. Maybe get plastic surgery and some facial reconstruction.' She rolls her eyes at this, "Christian, you know damn well I can't do that, the Council will still know who I am, regardless of how I look. besides, plastic surgery goes wrong so easily, I like my face how it is."
She leans on the porch railing, tracing the groves in the wood and breathing the wonderful smell of pine sap. 'Phoenix, I order you to come home.' He says in his Beta voice, it is at that moment, that she realizes that he doesn't have any power over her anymore. Sorrow washes over her and grips her heart tight, it fills her voice as she speaks. "Christian, you know I can't, and don't waste your Beta voice on me, you aren't my Beta anymore. Hey, I have to go, I'm at the pack house now. I need to present myself to the Alphess. Say hi to Sienna and the pack for me, I'll facetime you guys later." She hears him sigh, 'Knock them off their asses, girl. Who knows? Maybe they'll have a Delta position open. I miss you.' She smiles, "I miss you too, I'll call you later, bye." She hangs up and sighs, this is going to be hell. She steeled herself, put her phone in her pocket, undid her braid, combed her hair with her fingers and walked up to the door, her duffle bag over her shoulder and listens. A faint murmur of voices tell her that there were already a numerous amount of members already there. Her nose picked up traces of steak cooking, pine sap and tobacco smoke. The later at which, she wrinkled her nose at and looked to the male who seemed to be the one responsible. She gave him a curt nod and rang the doorbell with her free hand.
