Motorcycles - like cell phones - were rarely as quiet as they advertised. Sitting on the porch he watched her as she drove the remaining length of the drive and chatted freely to a voice on the phone. While not exactly a willing audience, he became one, his dark eyes staring at the critter that approached with a confidence that suggested she might be part of Acacia's clan already.
… Except she wasn't. His territorial instincts spurred him, urging him towards a (very unfriendly) response.
Instead, he breathed, exhaling a large plume mixture of tobacco and herb smoke. His eyes remained fixed, his face steely upon her. She nodded. He did not.
Gut responses aside, it wasn't his place to check and balance new comers. Thinking back to Willow and the Alpha, he took solace in the probability that Acacia could handle whatever the... Potential Delta... needed, even if somehow her manner made him bristle.
Ashley took a step up to the large wooden cabin. It was absolutely stunning. The forest scenery, hiding the cabin from human eyes, was also beautiful. It was unlike any house she had ever seen before. Quickly, she approached the door, ringing the doorbell before taking a step back. She fixed her hair, wanting to make a good impression.
In all her 250 years of being a lycan, she failed to take notice to the society they formed around her. Of course she had heard of such packs, but never cared to understand the organization and stability they would bring to lycan's life. And that was what she desperately needed, even if she didn't want to admit it. The council had also sent her here for that very reason. She had not cared enough about their kind to try very hard to keep her identity a secret. In fact, on multiple accounts, she had almost exposed their kind. Especially when she was younger, and superstition about supernaturals was very much alive.
Giving a small sigh to herself, she awaited the someone who would answer the door.

Alphess Acacia
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack - Rudyard Kipling
Bare feet would faintly be heard as the light-weighted woman stalked through the large building, slinking through the kitchen for a mere moment as she observed the interactions of favorable Beta and recently arrived females. 'Won't he be living the life,' she'd slither a single thought through her mind as smile plastered to her lips, her expression soft and inviting as she continued on her way to address those whom stood upon houses porch.
The overwhelming scents of every new body whom had previously entered tainting her nostrils as she took in yet another deep breath, there truly were so many new beasts she would need to assess, and possibly, train. Shuddering at the last idea of having to train other lycans she would shove the thought out for a moment as she pinpointed the new duo and stood tall upon final approach to the pack houses entrance. Two more females to add to Christian's flirtation list, just what she needed. Letting one arm extend she would allow herself to open a single door, faded emerald eyes staring at the two blondes, without giving them much chance to speak up she would maneuver herself to access the outdoor world, eyes skimming to Rux for the shortest moment.
"Welcome to my home," the smooth vocalization of visibly domineering figure to be heard as she began to examine the women head to toe, "I am the Alphess of this Domain, and I'm going to guess right off the bat, that the Council has sent you?" She'd offer them both a generous smile, one that emit her kinder side, a side she preferred to show although for her to hold her position there must of been some power behind her 'innocent' appearance.
"I'm glad you could make it," she would soon continue after hopefully gaining an answer to her previous question, "Dinner will be ready shortly and, during that time there will be plenty of time to meet and greet everybody else then." Acacia could smell the brewing forces of each ingredient and chosen food-product that Christian and possibly the others decided upon, it's swirling aroma enticing her appetite as she let her arms hang loosely by her sides, head high and posture tall and straight as she listened to anything both new-comers had to say.
Platinum haired alpha seeming more welcoming than anything as she hid her mindset of trying to evaluate her current situation of new, potential pack-mates now lingering in the home she'd grown accustomed to baring only herself and male Beta.
Ashley watched as the door opened, appearing on the other side, a light haired female. They were around the same height, but the female's presence was screaming dominance. Quickly, Ashley dipped her head. Even if this female wasn't the Alpha, she might as well make a good first impression.
"Welcome to my home," The female said, her tone light. "I am the Alphess of this Domain, and I'm going to guess right off the bat, that the council sent you? " The Alphess spoke again, giving a smile. Ashley smiled back. She liked her already, her tone was almost playful, not like other Alpha's who abuse their rank. But Ashley didn't know the Alphess, not yet.
"Hello," Ashley said in a rather respectful tone. "I am Ashley Silva, sent here by, yes, the council to join your pack," Ashley lifted her head, the scent of many wolves hitting her. To her surprise, it was rather pleasant, it gave her the feeling she wasn't alone. Though she didn't notice there were very few male scents. This disappointed her, considering she was a huge flirt. Just before the Alphess could continue, there was a small movement out of the corner of Ashley's eye. She snapped her head towards it, her eyes growing a bit darker under the presence of the small prey. The squirrel dashed off, and Ashley shook her head, looking back towards the Alphess.
Ashley had always been an avid hunter. And she was exceptionally good at it. After she left the foster home she had to fend for herself, and so she let her wolf instincts take over; hunting and eating raw meat. She, when younger, would often also use hunting to de-stress and reconnect with herself.
She was finally snapped out of her thoughts when the Alphess mentioned dinner. Pulling her blonde hair over her shoulders, Ashley gave another smile, hoping she would be accepted.
While she was waiting for the Alphess, she'd noticed the male watching her already, scanning for a threat obviously. Phoenix understood, she used to do the same whenever someone dared cross Sienna. At the same time, her unnaturally bright eyes scanned him, she marked out anything that could threaten her or the other Were quickly approaching. She could smell the territorial testosterone coursing through his veins, oh he did not like her. Not only was it obvious from his stance, he never returned her nod. No matter, she wasn't here for him, she was there to speak with the Alphess, not him. The other Were she'd scented earlier approached the porch. She could tell from the air she admitted that she was older, and for that, Phoenix gave her a courteous dip of her head, acknowledging the older Were as her elder.
The Alphess soon answered the door, it was a shorter woman with white hair. But past experiences taught her that size isn't everything. This woman, though polite, obviously had a power that she wasn't afraid to brandish. "Welcome to my home," Phoenix caught the Alphess' examination and stood straighter, careful not to look her in the eye, she was most likely looking for strengths and weaknesses. "I am the Alphess of this Domain, and I'm going to guess right off the bat, that the Council has sent you?" She waited, trying to let the elder Were speak first. When the older woman introduced herself as Ashley, it was her turn. Giving the Alphess a respectful and polite half curtsy, she spoke. "Bonjour demoiselle, I am Phoenix Riley, former Delta of the Portland pack. The Council transferred me here, I don't know if they have informed you like they promised they would. I apologize if my appearance is unexpected." Her intent isn't rude or trying to show power, just to inform her. She spoke politely, wanting to sound respectful, she learned from watching Ariana say the wrong thing to Sienna that Alpha's don't take too kindly to someone trying to show off a power they don't have.
"Dinner will be ready shortly and, during that time there will be plenty of time to meet and greet everybody else then." To this Phoenix nods, she had smelled the wonderful spices when the white haired Alphess opened the door. It caused her mouth to water and her stomach inevitably growled, causing her to flinch. It was a long drive from Portland to Ontario, and Phoenix didn't like making a lot of stops. Thus she drove overnight, and most of the day. Dangerous, but a risk she was willing to take. Starving as she was, she doubted the chef had planned on having two more unexpected wolves. "Demoiselle, as tantalizing as that sounds, and smells, I don't wish to intrude. Especially if the one cooking wasn't expecting two more arrivals. I'd hate to cause them more work." Though the Alphess' tone had been almost playful, she had no intention of pissing them off. She kept her tone respectful, always. She also, refrained from looking into her eyes, as she'd learned a while ago that the Alpha's took that as disrespect and as a dominating expression.
It made him itch. So many bodies in such a space - even as large as the pack den - made him chafe. As his eyes flickered to another newcomer (this one more uncertain and anxious) he took another deep drag of his rolled cigarette, exhaling slowly only when his lungs begged for more.
Why would the Council send for so many?
His discomfort borne from so many new faces was only fueled by the instability of it all. The lack of order and rank and organization - when so many existed beneath one banner - fed an innate desire to see it all put to order.
Which in turn fed an ever deeper desire to smoke and brood and settle himself. A fellow accustomed to being alone did not acclimate to being in the throes of social levity quickly or easily. It wasn't his place to put the chaotic pieces in their proper setting (just as it was not his place to protect this area, or interact with new travellers), even if instinct drove him to do so. After many centuries the elder werewolf mastered an enviable level of stoicism and control...
Even when he gave a lingering glance to the current Alpha. While his exterior remained rather stony and unfriendly, Acacia might have been able to pick up on the subtle cues that communicated his true nature. While appearing aloof, he was paying keen heed to the interactions of all involved: should Acacia need it, she wouldn't be outnumbered or outgunned betwixt the strangers. She need but give the word to have his... assistance.
Until then, he merely loomed as he was apt to do, smoking his cigarette and leaning on the banister of the porch.
Alphess Acacia
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack - Rudyard Kipling
"I am Ashley Silva," the first of the two started off, agreeing to the notion in which the notorious council had indeed sent her. Natural smile dancing over her pale pink lips as she let faded emerald eyes trail off to the second of the two, "Bonjour demoiselle, I am Phoenix Riley, former Delta of the Portland pack." Acacia's eyes would visibly begin to work a little harder, examining this woman a bit closer as the mention of being a previous Delta quickly slid into the back of her mind. She had recalled the mention from the Council of a transferring pack-member, but she hadn't assumed it to be one of previously higher rank, this quickly brought to her attention a single question; What brought the Council to the decision to transfer a Delta? They were still in training to become a Beta and thus she began wondering what this female possibly done wrong if at all anything.
"Demoiselle, as tantalizing as that sounds, and smells, I don't wish to intrude," the same female, Phoenix, began to speak after the mention of dinner being almost ready, "Especially if the one cooking wasn't expecting two more arrivals. I'd hate to cause them more work." Letting her salmon lips part the slightest to bare the ivories within she would let a small chuckle escape her, "Don't be silly, Christian, I am assuming, will have made plenty to feed the mouths now gathered plus some." She hoped this were true, considering that she had absolutely no idea how many more were to be expected, and as such, neither did the Beta. With how many had rocked up in one sitting, she expected he would make plenty enough just in case of whose who arrived later than others.
Still grinning at the duo she would flash a glimpse towards Rux as she watched him loom off to the side puffing a cigarette whilst resting against a banister. "Now, I am thinking, by the smells of things, that dinner may finally be ready," she piped up lightly as she glanced between Ashley and Phoenix, "If you'd like to find rooms first, by all means you may do such. But don't take too long as I'm sure everyone is quite hungry and we won't be hunting as of yet." She meant every word she spoke this time, as of right now, no one would get permission to hunt whether they preferred it or not. Acacia wished for everyone to suck up their preferences and enjoy a meal in the house, she would initiate a hunting trip once she could properly evaluate each and every member under brighter lighting.
"I will see you all for dinner in a bit," this would be the last she offered, nodding the slightest towards each of those before her, including Rux before spinning on her heels and striding back within the household. Her destination of choice being the closest room to the front door; the kitchen.
