So... Taliyah is a journalist, new to the area. The group in the bar peeks her interest (The Vampire Clan). She thinks it's some sort of cult.
She wants this group to be her big hit and is gonna dig. A few options that could happen.
A. She is caught by the coven.
A. 1. Result of being caught, the leader finds some way to blackmail her and she becomes something like their property.
A. 2. They force her to turn so she can't tell.
B. A rogue finds what she is doing and pretends to want to help her.
B. 1. He tricks her and turns her.
B. 2. Falls for her and doesn't know what to do.
C. Some vampire (clan or rogue) and unrelated to her snooping, decides they like her. But not in a romantic way. They want her as a human blood bag. (Every once in a while they drain some of her blood to drink and does other slave things).
C. 1. They black mail her.
C. 2. They kidnap her and force her.
C. 3. If someone likes her romantically they rescue her. (maybe)

Sooo I had an idea that reflects off of your ideas.
The coven catches her, and to keep her silent, Xalia goes to kill her. Dru steps in saying she'll claim her/vouch for her and she becomes something like Dru's property. At first, Taliyah resents Dru for doing so but soon realizes she has no intentions of hurting her. Meanwhile at the time, Dru had told herself it was because she couldn't bear to see the young woman die, but later realizes she had fallen in love with the human girl. As time wears on Dru becomes more friendly towards her, having initially been slightly distant and cautious. At some point, Taliyah gets hurt or is sick in some fatal way, it is then that Dru realizes her love for the human and turns her, thus saving her life.
The whole time, Taliyah would be living in the clan house and at the beginning, the whole clan resents her, but can't do anything about it because she is spoken for. Eventually, they'd become more accepting of her, but it would be a slow process since she is a human. At some point, someone (maybe a male vampire) could try to make and advance on Taliyah but Dru would interrupt and rescue her as she is very protective of Taliyah.
