A small blush splashed across Zara's face at Ryan's statement. He's really sweet. Her lips curled into a small smile. Ryan seemed to have forgotten about his sandwich, now taking it out of the bag that withheld it. He took a bite. Zara searched his face, silently admiring it. I wonder what he'd like to do. I haven't seen much of the city, and it seems like he hasn't either based off his scent. Zara was brought out of her thoughts when Ryan presented his sandwich and offered her a bite. Zara looked at the sandwich and gently took it from his hand. She took a small bite from it before giving it back to him. "It's good, thank you." She flashed a smile at Ryan. "I have an idea, once you're done that, how about we go explore some of the city? That is, if you're okay with having me as company." One of her hands floated up to her hair, pulling the long length to drape over her left shoulder. Her eyes flicked back to him. This was a way of challenging him, to see if he really was a skilled hunter. She had suspicions and wanted to test if he would be of any danger to her.
Zara smiled and listened closely to Ryans ramble. She recognized basically all the titles of the games he mentioned. The different consoles that she had remembered getting herself. She slowly nodded along with his story. Him stopping made her frown a bit, she had liked hearing about his interests. "I honestly liked hearing you talk about something that your passionate about. I play on my PC mostly because that's what most of my friends play. I too have a past of consoles. My first ever was an atari. After that, I got a gamecube, then a xbox. I got the xbox 360 the day it was released and recently got the ps4. I'm saving up for an oculus rift. I play every genre of game, so you can imagine my library of disks in my basement." A little smile formed on her face, thinking about the floor to ceiling dresser that was completely filled.
Her eyes looked down at her hands, which she put together. "I hope you weren't looking for a one sentence answer, or else I'd be embarrassed." She blinked and looked back up, locking her gaze with Ryan's.
Zara grinned slightly when she noticed her innuendo go completely over Ryan's head. After what he said about his hobbies, a little giggle escaped Zara as she saw Ryan's face become even more red. He is such a dork, I like it. "Well it's a good thing that this pretty girl is a geek herself. What do you play? Do you like consoles or computers more?" Her dark eyes searched his face as she awaited for an answer. His face almost seemed to be in shock from his last sentence.
She saw Zia and Zoelle leaving. She smiled at Zia and replied, "Yes, I would like that." Then nodded at Zoelle as a good-bye. I wonder why Zia is so put off. She seemed to have an opioning of Ryan that was unspoken. As the two females left the cafe, Zara turned her head and focused on Ryan again.
Characters: Lyra MoonfallEverett LipkaZara Bancroft Duration: 2 weeks Reasons: I'm going to a guiding camp that has been planned for two years and have no access to anything since I can't even bring my phone ;-;
Zara noticed Ryan's blush, which made a small smirk form on her face. She noticed him observing her features more closely now that they were closer. She ended up doing the same, taking note of his features. He is pretty cute, especially when he gets all embarrassed like this. His response to her question she found a little funny as he stumbled over his words. They were quite close to each other, especially for people who just met. She looked down at the table where her hand was, place close to her elbow, before looking back up. Her eyes caught his for a few seconds before she broke it by looking out the window.
"I don't really have a specific job yet, though I have an offer open." Her gaze flicked over to where Zoelle was, "I've hunted on my own before. For vicious creatures, but I've taken multiple self defense courses, so I've been able to protect myself." Thinking about her journey she had on her way to Toronto after leaving home, she looked away from Zoelle and back to Ryan. She smiled at him, "I have a few hobbies, a few I can't really say in public." Zara winked at Ryan as she finished her sentence. "How about you?" Zara leaned in a tad bit closer as she was curios at what his answer would be.
OOC: I just re-read Zara's past and she has vampire blood on her hands ^^' oops, I forgot about that, buuuuuuut she won't hurt Zoelle so you good
Zara listened and watched everything that happened around her. A new scent suddenly hit her nose as the bell to the cafe rang. She turned her head towards the new lycan in the room. Shifting back to her position, she listened in to the conversation between the lycan and the cashier. From what she could hear, his name was Eli. Taking note of this, she wondered if he was also here to serve the pack. This thought reminded her of the note that was in her pocket from the council. She had to go there eventually, but she was quite enjoying herself with these people in the cafe. What if I don't go to the pack and stay here? The thought floated through her mind before she quickly made it go away. No, that'd be crazy. They asked me to go for a reason, so I will. However, that doesn't mean I can't come visit, right?
Zara was brought out of her thoughts when Zoelle mentioned her name. Her eyes flicked to the female as she asked Ryan to keep her company before moving to Zia. A quick glance at the claw-like nail marks in the table said it all. Zara nodded at Zoelle and looked back at Ryan and smiled, "So, how you gonna keep me company? Are you gonna tell me a story? Or will that make you..." She leaned closer to him and said her next word a little quieter, "stutter?" She slightly raised an eyebrow at him as she placed her chin on one hand, slightly cocking her head to the side. She did find him to be attractive, for a human. She never would have believed she would go for a human, but things happen. Also, he was funny, which was a plus. However, there was something a little off about him being a hunter. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but hopefully she would find an answer that satisfied her.
Zara watched the scene in front of her unfold. She laughed and giggled to the way everyone was interacting. It was after that silence had settled in that she realized she hadn't introduced herself. "My name is Zara. May I ask what you are doing here?" Her tone was playful and light. She leaned forward so that her weight was resting on her forearms. One eyebrow raised up as she asked her question. She hadn't met someone named Ryan for a long time, and also hadn't seen a natural ginger in quite a while. She was interested in why he was in Toronto. Many stories about humans from her childhood unfolded in her mind. They were curious creatures. She flicked her deep coloured eyes towards the human girl who was serving at the cafe before quickly look back at Ryan. Humans did certainly look nice, but the thought of getting together, or hooking up with one never really crossed her mind. That was until she came into the city and realized how attractive some were. Having only been told stories from her old pack, she was interested in getting to know more about them. What their behavior was, if they were really that different from lycans and vampires. These kinds of things were what made Zara interested in interacting with them.
Her gaze ended up locking onto Ryan's as she waited for his response.
Zara smiled at the two females words as conversation continued. With a gesture of her coffee mug, Zia addressed the new male human in the cafe. "He does seem interesting." Zara slightly tilted her head to the side, examining the human when he wasn't noticing. Turning her brown gaze back to the females, she took another sip of her drink. Another ginger, interesting. Hearing confident footsteps coming in the groups direction, she already knew who it was before even looking at him. He opened with a greeting and continued awkwardly before losing his thought. This caused Zara to chuckle a little bit.
Flicking her chocolate eyes up at him, she spoke in a friendly tone, "Hello there sir. We were simply observing the newcomer in the cafe." She could tell by his scent that he wasn't from around here. Maybe just passing through? "Don't worry, we don't bite, take a seat." Saying this Zara knew that the others would find her statement ironic, which was intended. She tapped on a nearby chair with her foot as an invitation before taking another sip of her coffee.
Zara nodded at Zia's answer, not pushing her to say more as she realized that telling the story had annoyed her. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." was all she managed to say. Her experience in her old pack wasn't like that, so she couldn't think of much to reply. Zara noticed that Zoelle seemed interested in the conversation Zia and Zara were having. This she found amusing, as vampires she had met previously would usually tune out at any type of 'pack talk'. This made a small smile form on her face. Maybe this is one of the better vampires.
Right when she was about to say something, the bell of the cafe rang through the building. She looked over to see a human male with red hair. Slightly tilting her head, she turned back to the conversation between the three. "So, Zoelle, were you apart of a clan in your past?" Curiosity overcame her as the next question poured out. She was known for being curious, and her mother would sometimes tease her by calling her a cat because of it. This wasn't her favourite nickname that she had received in the past, but not the worst.
OOC: Oooooooo what would our name be? xD and Zoelle hope you don't mind be using your format of 'addressed' and such. I thought it looked really pretty
Zara listened intently on what Zia was saying, nodding along, agreeing. She didn't really have a side on things between lycans and vampires. All she knew was that the two species didn't like each other. She didn't experience anything personal to make her not like them, so this conversation was interesting. Zara smiled at Zia as she wished her luck. "Thanks, I still don't know exactly how long I'll be there, but I will defiantly be coming back to visit this cafe, they have good beverages." She smiled as she took a sip of her drink, thinking back to the cute waitress.
"I used to also be in a pack, was actually in line to be beta. However, my other siblings were as well and I think you two can guess where that got me." Zara thought back to the bloody sparing match she had with her sister. Her eyes slightly narrowed at the thought of the feeling she had when her sister was officially announced the heir to the beta position. She shook off the thought and turned her attention back to the two ladies in front of her. "So you were a beta in your pack? What made you want to leave?" Zara was quite curious, as she never heard of a beta leaving a pack by their own will.
Zara leaned forward on the table, placing her arms on it, chocolate brown eyes flicking between the two in front of her. Looking at Zoelle for her reaction of Zia's outspoken words, and Zia for her answer.
Zara gave a small smile to the vampire as she responded to her plans of the pack. When the other lycan came over, invited by the vampire, Zara nodded towards her. Zia, interesting name, she thought. "I'm Zara Bancroft." being polite, she gave her name to the newcomer. Her head tilted at the questions Zia presented about her ambitions with the pack. This was interesting to Zara. She never really thought to try to receive a high position, especially if it meant violence, though she could try to by building relationships. Zara never really gave much thought to the ranks, as she viewed this whole situation as something somewhat temporary.
Zara gave a slight shrug, "Honestly, I hadn't really thought of it. I wouldn't mind if I didn't receive a high position if it meant someone who really wanted it wouldn't get it. However, being incharge of the warriors would be entertaining." This made a smirk form on her face. She was supposed to be the beta of a pack right now, but ever since her sister had defeated her in battle for the position, she hadn't really thought of trying for a high position. Zara had been floating around, trying to find what was right for her. Maybe, it wouldn't be so bad, if I was in a leading position. Thinking for a moment, she shook the thought out of her head.
Zara nodded at the vampires answer to her question. It was interesting to meet someone who was not involved in the councils affairs. At least she would have to face her on the battle field, Zara wasn't too fond of learning about who her enemies are before battle. It makes battling harder if she finds out they are actually a kind person, though a heck of a lot easier if they aren't the greatest of people. Zara took another sip as a new figure entered the cafe, a woman who ordered a latte and chocolate cake. Nodding to herself, approving of the choices the new one made.
Zara's chocolate eyes flicked back to the vampire as she was asked if she was apart of the war. She gave a nod, "Yes I am, supposed to be there already but I didn't want to add to the first incoming wave. So I'm waiting for a bit and heading over when there are less people coming at the same time." She ingested the last bit of her drink before politely waving over the waitress. The waitress was quite good looking and when she came back with her drink, Zara winked at her before saying, "Thank you cutie." She noticed the blush that the waitress tried to hide which made a slight smirk form across Zara's face.
Zara glanced over at the vampire when she expressed their common interest and her ordering more to drink. Zara ate a little more of her bagel and took a sip of her drink. She thought about this vampire, how it wasn't aggressive and mean like many other lycan had described them to be. Even though they were in a public setting, the vampire could have not tried to start a conversation with her. This made the wolf interested in this blood-drinker. They were getting along quite well. Zara reached into her pocket for a second, feeling the piece of paper the council had given her, which made her think, if this vampire really was apart of this war, would she be so nice? Looking over at the vampire, Zara decided to ask the question burning in her mind.
"So, you apart of this apparent war that's supposed to happen in the near future?" her tone held her interest and she took another sip of her drink. The other lycans were probably at the house, finding rooms and maybe even being put into positions. This didn't bother her, as she looked at this as a temporary job. She was interested in if she would see this vampire on the opposing side. She really hoped not, as she enjoyed the two being civil despite them being natural enemies.
Zara took a sip of her drink before her sensitive ears picked up the vampires voice. She questioned Zara about her presence here. Zara put down her drink, somewhat surprised that the vampire had actually spoken to her. She was taught that all vampires hated lycans, however Zara never really felt a hatred towards them. They hadn't given her a real reason, so she was more neutral towards. She had never told another lycan her opinion towards vampire though, there was too much risk with taking a bold stance like that. Zara contemplated what to say next, as she still didn't know if this particular blood-sucker was apart of the clan that she was going to be put against. If she gave too much away, it could be put against her and the pack. However, I haven't actually been formally accepted into the pack yet. She didn't want to be apart of the crowd that she knew would probably form all at once, since the letters were sent out at relatively same times.
"Just journeying and became hungry. Thought this was a nice place to stop." Zara looked at the woman as she spoke casually. Her dominant personality showed a little as she took another sip of her drink.
Zara's black knee high boots shuffled across the cement as she strolled along the streets of Toronto. Her senses were alert as her brown eyes flickered across all the buildings. She was hungry and wanted something nice to eat. She had considered the bar, however she didn't want to deal with possible alcoholics. Her bright red hair shifted as she turned her head, reading a sign with "The Little Cafe" plastered across it. This suited her mood and she pushed the door open, a bell rang as she did so. Her gaze immediately looked at a woman, sitting and eating what looked to be caramel cake. It's a blood sucker.
Zara walked up to the counter and ordered, "I'll have one of your iced coffee's and a plain bagel please." Zara kept the whereabouts about the vampire in the back of her mind. This was a neutral territory after all, and it would be unwise to stir up conflict in a place like this. Remembering the letter that the council had given her, there was mention about a war between vampires and the pack. She wondered if this would be one of the vampires that was recruited.
Zara picked up her items, paid and sat at one of the empty tables. Her black leather jacket shifted as she lent forward to eat her bagel.
