Christian looked towards Acacia, nodding his head towards her with a small smile that said that he understood what she was saying. He eyed her quietly, knowing that there must be something more. But, as another Lycan, one that was not familiar to Christian at all, entered the room, he let a small frown come across his face as he studied her. She must have been the wolf that his Alphess was talking about. She had this... air to her that Christian didn't like. He looked towards Acacia before letting his head nod towards the red head that was presented before him when his name was spoken. She'd said that she wouldn't be needing any sort of food for the night, and he wondered if that would be the same for some of the other guests within the house. Looking towards her with a small frown, he wondered if she was going to be this courteous only because she'd previously lied to Acacia about her past. Letting a small frown come across his face, he instead busied himself in making sure he was presentable, only having acknowledged the female that had entered for a split second before he continued to busy himself, tidying the place up.
But once there wasn't anymore fidgeting of his body, Acacia would be the only one who would be able to tell that the once flirty male was actually rather uncomfortable in front of the girl that was standing there. Although she was much younger, and not intimidating at all, a strange feeling lay at the bottom of his stomach, seeing as he knew this girl had lied to his leader, his Alpha. The one that he pledged himself too the day that he arrived here. He didn't like that she'd been able to lie so easily, and Acacia surely wouldn't be pleased about the fact either. Or at least, he hoped she weren't. All Christian could do right now was wait for the other newly arrived members to come into the kitchen, where they would admire his and Rayne's work. | Mentioned: Everyone Else | | Addressed: Alphess AcaciaPhoenix Riley |
Phoenix Riley
Someone once said, 'Where there's a will there's a way.' If I'm not dead yet, there's always a way.
"Feel free to have a drink," Acacia had said, her light tone helped Phoenix to relax and she found herself becoming more comfortable around them. Thank the gods for that, Christian and Willow never let her go without a meal. They knew she struggled with her self image, and at times, shoved food down her throat if she refused to eat. 'Can't watch my every move, Chris.' She thought smugly, she nodded in thanks to Acacia. "Thank you, I don't eat much, so you won't have to worry about food disappearing from your pantry." She jokes, taking the extension of Acacia's arm as an invitation to look through the cabinets, she walks past the male and extends an arm to open a cabinet in search of a glass.
She could feel their eyes on her. It slightly bothered her, but she gave no indication that she noticed. If they looked hard enough, or cared to, they'd see that her wrist was impossibly skinny, and her fingers were so skinny, that it looked as if someone tried to stretch her skin over her bones as tightly as possible. Her frame was extremely narrow, but she hides her scrawniness well. She currently wore a stylishly baggy shirt, but her skinny jeans showed off her unnatural thigh gap. Not to mention, her collar bones were visible, her face was almost hollow. To her, her disorder was only slightly noticeable, but if one looked hard enough, it was noticeable.
The cabinet she'd opened revealed plates, she reached up to grab a stack. She stumbles as they leave the support of the cabinet and gravity takes over. She manages to catch them and regain her balance. She turns to face the pair with a small smile on her face, presenting the plates for them. "Christian, this is Phoenix, one of the new arrivals. And Phoenix, this is my Beta, Christian." Acacia introduces her and the male, and her smile grows slightly, but her face brightens. He nods to her, as if he were uncomfortable, but she smiles. "Nice to meet you, Beta." She sets the plates down on the counter and holds her hand out for him to shake. When he makes no move to shake her hand, she pulls her hand back awkwardly. 'I guess he isn't a people person?' Her face falls slightly, and she resumes her search for a cup.
She finally finds one and manages to grab it, filling it to the brim with ice from the freezer before getting tap water. She munches on the ice while she sips at the water. The cold blooms across her chest and pools in her stomach. She closes her eyes and sighs at the feeling. She sets the glass on the counter and grabs the plates and faces the pair again. 'Why do they keep watching me like I'm going to kill someone? For the love of chocolate, I'm not a murderer!' She thinks as she sees them looking at her. To her credit, Acacia wasn't being obvious about it, but Christian was openly staring at her. Her voice is confused as she speaks, her eyes keep glancing at Christian, confused. "I was thinking I could set the table? I don't know how many people are, so how many places should I set?" She is talking to Acacia, looking at her this time, but Christian's stare was causing her anxiety to spark. Did she do something wrong? Did they not like her? Were they going to throw her out? Was the whole pack like this? Her fingers drum against the bottom of the plates as her anxiety grows under Christian's disapproving stare. Her teal eyes sparkle with anxiety as the silence becomes deafening. OOC: Phoenix is a bit like me, if someone is staring at me, I start to freak out internally. xD
As Christian began to move around to 'fill in time' as she assumed, Acacia would linger lightly upon bare soles where she could easily feel the chilled surface of kitchens polished wooden floor. She could feel the unease that emanated from his form, his movements off-put and his aura clear of his distrust. She'd been around him long enough to depict that much. When Phoenix spoke she shifted her attention to the other, "Thank you, I don't eat much, so you won't have to worry about food disappearing from your pantry," nodding in regards to the joking tone, she let herself hover around as the woman took her invitation to seek a glass to retrieve herself a drink.
With little of interest to remain dangling within the current conversation and gathering she would roll her shoulders back, chin lifting the slightest as she turned enough to peer at the entrance to the kitchen, predominantly seeking out whomever may of made approach. Although, to her disappointment, no one had yet made their way to the feast that had been prepared. "Nice to meet you, Beta," Acacia heard from behind her, barely offering a motion of regards to this interaction from those behind her she would expel a light sigh.
"I was thinking I could set the table? I don't know how many people are, so how many places should I set?" The new-comer pierced the silence once more, from the eyes she felt against her flesh, the lithe silhouette of alabaster female spun once more. "I'm not sure if you have noticed, but the table is set," her words somewhat filled with the faintest trail of irritating, people were taking their time and she then began moving towards the inner area of the kitchen, "It has been a long day and the tension is high with so many strangers in a home I've known to be just mine and Christians, excuse any harshness this may be causing." Soon enough she would find herself at her Beta's side, his discomfort filling the air around him as she glanced pale jade eyes in his direction.
The she-wolf before them had lied in his eyes, and hers too. She didn't know what to believe at this particular time and as such, it seemed both herself and her second-in-command would sit on the edge of judgement. If what the female had spoken about truly was false, in which they both already assumed, then she would be in more trouble than any other Lycan could imagine, but for now Acacia held the air of dominance filtered by a calm radiation of tolerance. For now, she was just like the others, an Omega upon the duo's territory, being accepted as a guest until further judgement was possible.
(Phoenix I'd suggest not roleplaying others characters. I checked, and none of the actions that were stated actually happened between the characters. I'd suggest from now on to avoid doing that, as its against the rules to control someone else's character.)
Christian looked towards Phoenix as she extended her hand, and it almost irritated him that she'd expect him to show her such respect, to give her something like that. Instead, he let her recoil her arm awkwardly, and watched as she feasted upon ice while filling a cup full of water. She acted like she was of some higher stature, and Christian wasn't too pleased by that. She may have come from a pack where she was a Delta, but right now, she had to sort of jurisdiction to be doing anything of the sort, or acting like she was. When she started to pull out plates, he let out a small huff, looking towards the table that was clearly set already. Acacia however, handled the girl well, although there was some harshness to her tone. He couldn't blame her to be honest. As much as Christian liked having the female's in the house, this was their home just a couple hours ago. And now they were sharing it with multiple other people. Along with a girl that Christian was uncomfortable with. Removing his harsh blue gaze, he looked upon the set table, and too a seat where he normally sat, which was right next to Acacia's spot, which was the head of the table. He'd await the others to return, and hopefully some of the more familiar and welcoming faces would be much more inviting to him than the others.
Before entering the kitchen, Gen took the time to wipe away the tear stains on her face. She doubted that her eyes were red because she was not crying that hard before. She still felt strangely betrayed by that woman and she had no idea why. Perhaps her inner wolf felt at home already and was hurt by what she thought was genuine kindness? Or Gen really wanted a friend and thought the woman was really there for her? Or perhaps these were lingering feelings of when her ex had abandoned her and had nothing to Do with that woman at all?
All were plausible answers, however, none of that mattered now. Genevieve had no time for feelings, she had to gain some simbalance of control before facing the others. Taking a few breaths, she walked into the kitchen and spotted three individuals. The red head she did not recognize but then again she didn't care to pay attention during introductions. Then again she never did care about things anymore, especially not interrupting whatever was going on currently.
Leaning in the doorway, she looked to Christian, "Are drinks still being offered? 'Cause I wouldn't mind having beer with that delicious smelling dinner." This was the first time she spoke to anyone but Acacia in public and she wondered how the flirtatious male would take it. She had caught the male checking out all the females earlier and was grateful for once that she was not interested in whatever meat hung between his legs.
However, she was interested in the blonde female that stood by the male. She tried not to admit the attractiveness of Acacia but damn was she beautiful. Gen had a rule though, to not mix work and pleasure in her life. She blinked a few times, returning her attention on Christian. "You can point me in the direction and I can get it myself," she offered, moving from her leaned position to her full height of five feet and four inches.
With the entering of another, his head visibly perked at the sound of someone entering that was somewhat familiar. It was the quieter girl that had only talked to Acacia upon her arrival. But now she was talking with him, and he gave a small smile towards her as she asked for beer. She also asked if he could just point her in the correct direction, and he gave a chuckle, adopting a more pleasant persona than he had towards Phoenix. He would appear much more relaxed, not on edge at all, and completely and utterly showing dominance that would radiate from him. Smiling towards Gen, he made his way over towards the fridge, opening it and pulling out a bottle of beer. It was a Bud Light, but it would be appropriate for her possibly. "I hope you don't mind it being a Bud Light, its the only thing we currently have, unless you want me to mix up a more fruitful drink for you," He asked, looking towards her. Christian was quite the mixologist, he'd practice for about fifty years of his life in the trade of making alcoholic drinks.
"If you want, you can also take a seat whereever you like, although the head of the table will be taken, as will the spot to the right of it," He stated, smiling towards the girl. He could see her eyes drift over towards Acacia, whether it was for comfort, or attraction, he wasn't quite sure, but he knew that the female meant no harm by it, and he looked towards the table. "Hopefully the others will join us then," She said, leaning his head towards Acacia as he inclined to ask her a question. "And hopefully the newcomers show themselves too, I'd like to meet them," He smiled towards her as he made his way to lean against the counter, now feeling more relaxed that Genevieve had quite literally dispelled the tension that had set itself within the Kitchen and Dining area. He was thankful to her for that.
Acacia had lingered upon light, bare feet, near her Beta. Silence had lain claim to the still air of the room and in turn, the stiff disapproval clung to the atmosphere like a bee to nectar. Female of pallid coloration would let rump kiss the edge of counter behind her, leaning somewhat as she glanced about the interior of the particular room. Letting her arms bend at the elbow, delicate hands would raise as she all but began to fiddle with shoulder-length flaxen strands of hair.
She held little interest in proper conversation, visible by her lack of direction towards either person within the room. Christian, undoubtedly would know why, but, the other would not have. She’d been examining the amount of plates set, the table was fully prepared and the once empty house bustled. A taut knot churned within empty stomach as Acacia recalled the many nights where only she and her Beta ate in peace, the house still and open. As of today, she knew this was never to be again. Many new faces would be joining their family, some more welcomed than others.
With blank expression taking hold of her visage, the slender woman would only be drawn from her thoughts as the faint sound of light steps, presumably a woman's, shuffled just outside of the kitchen's entrance. Offering no interaction at this particular point, Acacia tried not to rush whomever it was, it seemed the rest of the house would be taking their time to assemble for dinner, so why rush just one?
Soon enough, a familiar face emerged from the door-way. Dark, red dreadlocks hanging from her head, “Ah, Genevieve,” Acacia let the light voice emerge as a soft, welcoming smile seeped across her lips. “Welcome,” this last part was followed by an almost unnoticeable dip of her skull, only those paying close attention would of truly noticed. “Are drinks still being offered?” The question hung in the air as the Lycan addressed Christian, “‘Cause I wouldn’t mind having a beer with that delicious smelling dinner.” This brought a wider smile to Acacia’s exterior, pulling around to glance at her Beta as he was both asked for something and complimented on his and the others work.
Immediately responding to Gen’s question the taller Beta moved towards the fridge and removed a Bud Light from within. “I hope you don’t mind it being a Bud Light,” he started off, glass bottle in hand as he continued on, “Its the only thing we currently have, unless you want me to mix up a more fruitful drink for you.” Always so thoughtful about others, Acacia soon let a ringing chuckle escape her lips upon a recent memory, “Oh! That reminds me, you made me a drink before,” she offered forward as she remained leaned against the counter, “I should probably go find it.”
Without actually moving, the female would slink back into silence. Eyes slowly wandering from her Beta and the kitchen as they landed upon the leaning silhouette in the entry-way. Pale jade coloration beginning curious gaze as they wandered her figure, interest lathered in their glisten as she soon met the bright yellowed gaze of Genevieve. “If you want, you can also take a seat wherever you like,” Christian’s voice pierced the still air as Acacia let her stare upon Gen hold for a moment longer, soon enough releasing it as she glanced towards the table across the room. “Although the head of the table will be taken, as will the spot to the right of it,” the male continued on.
Lithe woman assumed he noticed at least one of the two gazing upon the other, be it from curiosity or interest would -hopefully- go unknown. And, soon enough the male was looking off to the table just as she was, “Hopefully the others will join us then,” he puffed before leaning his cranium in her direction, “And hopefully, the newcomers show themselves too, I’d like to meet them.” With eyes now drifted and settled upon Christian’s expression she’d let another light laugh escape her.
“Oh you’re having too much fun with all that. Aren’t you?” The Leading Lycan toyed as she continued to play with the ends of her hair. Giving herself decoy from other interests, hands busy and eyes peering around the room as she noted the previous tension had all but dispelled. “Oh I do hope everyone doesn’t take too long,” She would mutter towards those interested in listening, “I certainly am getting peckish.”
Acacia’s words and irritated tone reverberated in her head."I'm not sure if you have noticed, but the table is set," Phoenix looked down in embarrassment and replaced the plates. Suddenly ashamed for not having noticed something as obvious of the table for being set. She did her best to mask her emotions, as she wasn’t accustomed to letting them show, and she prayed that they didn’t. The day was not going well for her, she felt like she was back in a foster home, unwanted and unwelcomed. The knowledge of this sat like an uncomfortable weight in her chest.
She would love to be alone, that’s how it had been in the years leading up to joining her former pack, and that’s how she preferred it. Even in foster care, she had been left alone when she wasn’t bullied. Phoenix wondered if they would be okay with her skipping dinner altogether and just hiding away in her room. She looked up to see Acacia walking through the kitchen and Phoenix moved to get out of her way, she backed into a small alcove, not too far from the dining room. "It has been a long day and the tension is high with so many strangers in a home I've known to be just mine and Christians, excuse any harshness this may be causing." She nodded in response, she knew what the Alphess was feeling, but she couldn’t help but feel as if it were all her fault. “You’re so worthless Phoenix, even the Higher ups don’t want you in their pack. What a screw up.” She mutters to herself, not loud enough for anyone to hear, but anyone who cared enough to listen, could probably hear her.
A woman with brilliant red hair walked in asking about drinks and Phoenix thanked the gods that the attention was finally off of her. She watched from her corner as the Beta visibly relaxed and even smiled at the woman. Phoenix longed to feel as welcome as this new woman did, for even the Alphess smiled at the woman. At the mention of dinner, her stomach rumbled loudly and the pain of an empty stomach shot through her, but she was used to it. She merely sipped at her water and the hunger pains muted themselves. ‘Should I run away? Should I escape to the city?’ Phoenix highly doubted the Alphess or Beta would care, since it would mean one less stranger in the house to deal with. Plus it meant she'd get to be alone then.
It was decided then, she’d leave that night, while everyone slept. Now it was a matter of whether or not she should, or even could, skip dinner. Would they let her? “If you want, you can also take a seat wherever you like,” She overheard the Beta say. She had a dreadful feeling that the answer was no, even though the statement was directed towards the woman. Genevieve had been her name. Phoenix had to admit that she was beautiful, but seeing the look Acacia gave her, she decided right then and there, the Pack would be off limits, if she even decided to stay. She probably would have better luck with a human. “Oh I do hope everyone doesn’t take too long,” Acacia mused, “I certainly am getting peckish.” Well there goes her idea to escape to her room. She’d probably sit as far away from everyone as she could get. She lifted a skinny hand to fiddle with her wolf tooth pendant in silence as she remained alone in her alcove.
OOC: I'm back! Also, Phoenix as well as Cara Delevingne are blonde, they aren't redheads xD. Its Dru/Luanna Perez that are redheads. ~Mentioned~ ~Beta Christian ~ ~Alphess Acacia ~ ~@genevieve ~
Genesis entered the kitchen silently, moving through the air like a fish slipping through water, fluid and smoothly. She exhaled slowly through her slim, upturned nostrils as her turquoise eyes scoped around the room, looking at everyone. Dinner seemed to be cooking well, and a little smile brightened Genesis' face as she smelt the delicious food, still in the process of being prepared. Folding her hands together, interlacing her fingers, she stood by the wall watching as the commotion happened. One of the much younger Lycans, (Pheonix, was it?) seemed to be a bit high-strung, if that was the way to put it. Nervous. She observed as Genevieve, the gorgeous redhead, entered. The attention of Chris, the beta, seemed to shift from negatively directed towards Pheonix and he addressed Genevieve in a friendly manner. Genesis, as she had not witnessed most encounters between anyone here, wondered what had happened. However, Genesis did hope they would all get along in the end.
Leaning herself gently against a wall, Genesis crossed her arms and placed each hand upon the opposite bicep, as if she was cold. She wasn't, rather this was just the casual pose she was taking. She bit her lip slightly, a habit she often executed when observing something. As of right now, Genesis was observing the people in this particular area. Deciding it was perhaps impolite to look over everyone, she instead reached a hand up to the neat bun that her hair was in and gripped her hair elastic between her fingers. Pulling it away, her blonde waves cascaded like a waterfall down her head, neck, shoulders, and down to her back. Rolling it over her fingers and palm, she placed it around her wrist and brought her hair to her front side so her hair wouldn't get caught as she leaned back against the wall. Her stomach grumbled, though it did not make any sound Genesis could feel the rumbling, and placed a hand upon it, stilling the little earthquake. To herself, she tried to remember when she last ate. Shockingly, it was yesterday. Genesis always tried to take care of herself, making sure she ate at least three healthy meals a day, though there were her cheat days. Suddenly, she felt a lot hungrier and hoped for the others to hurry.
Rayne strolled into the kitchen at a leisurely pace, the frown that had previously sat on her lips was now replaced by a neutral expression with a ghost of a smile teasing the corners of her mouth. It seemed like everyone was present, the only people missing were Kari, Willow and the older male. She had seen Everett about to leave his room on her way back to the kitchen, so she could assume he would be here shortly. Of course, Rayne couldn't help but notice the presence of Genevieve. She lowered her head and let her soft curls sweep across her cheeks, a shield for the split second of hurt that flashed across her grey eyes, a product of her failed comforting session. She wasn't upset with Gen, but she was kicking herself for not being there to help the much younger Lycan. Her head rose again, this time a small smile adorned as she put her back against the closest wall, staring at her shoes until everyone was present and dinner was ready to be eaten, or until someone decided to approach and talk to her. Mentioned:
Having checked the other rooms for the presence of lycanthropes and having found none, Kari made her way back into the kitchen. As she stepped inside the room, she was greeted by the sight of many people. Acacia and Christian were both still present, but they had been joined by others. Rayne seemed to have returned from collecting Genevieve, and both women were present in the kitchen. Genesis had also arrived. The only people she did not see were Willow, who was likely still getting ready, Everett, who she had seen leaving his room as Kari herself was moving to the kitchen, and Rux, who Kari had not seen since leaving to help with dinner. Kari, upon surveying the kitchen, also noticed that they had been joined by yet another lycanthrope, a quite young female with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. So this must be the former delta Acacia spoke of . . . Kari thought. Upon first hearing of the new female's arrival, Kari had been rather disappointed, feeling that this new lycan's arrival meant the loss of any chance she may have had at gaining a position similar to her old one in Carter's pack, but now she felt bad for the other werewolf. She seemed nervous, as well as rather lonely, by herself in a far corner of the room. Kari sighed. Then, though with clear hesitation, she made her way over to the newest addition to the group. Kari pitied her for being so alone, and had then felt compelled to be friendly towards the new lycanthrope who had seemed so alone, despite the way some of the others seemed to be acting towards her and Kari's own distant and cold outward appearance that came from her nervousness to be around others. "Hello," Kari said uncertainly. She certainly felt rude for showing such reluctance to greet the other female, but the apprehension which the others, Christian in particular, were showing the other lycan was making her uncomfortable. Despite this, she offered the new female a nervous smile and began to speak once again. "I'm Kari." Finally, in a rather tentative manner, she held out her had to shake.
Willow walked into the kitchen, giving anyone who looked over at her a polite nod. She could smell meat, which was quite lovely, and something else... onions? Willow glanced around to see if she could spot Kari, but she was already speaking to someone else. She found herself feeling lonely and wandering over to Rayne, who was standing with her back up against the wall. Willow wondered for a split second if this was a good idea. Maybe she wants to be left alone, she thought. But it was too late and her words were already spilling out of her mouth. "So, the food smells great, doesn't it?" her voice was light, a sad attempt at making casual conversation.
Unfortunately for Willow, now that she'd began conversation, she couldn't abandon it. This is so bloody awkward. She was quite sure that Rayne felt the same about this small exchange. Willow would listen to whatever Rayne said in reply (if she said anything at all), and would afterwards allow her mind to drift off into space while smiling awkwardly at the older lycanthrope. Kitchen. Easy, knives. Forks. Fire. Hot things. Ooh! The oven. I could cook someone in that. I could slam someone's nose into the countertop. The bone shards would stab their brain. I could poison their food. Ah! Drive a chopstick into their eyes. Or their neck. She had strange methods, but Willow was fairly certain they would work.
OOC: I thought that Willow needed someone to talk to... Ah, well. Mentioned: Kari Varnan , @rayne
Everett entered the room and smiled at the site of how many people there were. Looking around, he saw that there was a new lycan in the room who seemed a little shy. His eyes rested on Kari for a second, seeing that she was talking to the new girl. A slight smiled formed before he moved into the room a little more. He tried to appear friendly as his bright eyes looked at everyone. He was excited to converse and get to know people. Also the smell of food was making him even more hungry, so he was excited for that. He wondered where the other two lycans were, but he hoped they would arrive soon. Realizing that there were only three males in the pack, he might have hoped for a higher position? Everett slightly shrugged, as he trusted in the alpha's abilities to put him in a suitable position.
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Genevieve accepted the beer that was handed to her, disappointed in their choice of beer. Although, to remain polite to the two leaders, she gave a smile, a tiny voiced, "thanks." She would need to make a mental note the next time she went into town to pick up some personal items, such as; better beer. Taking a swig, the chilled liquid hit her throat with such a taste that made the corner of her lipspull down in displeasure. Budlight was not her drink of choice, nor her second, but if this is all they had then she would suffer in silence and get tipsy while doing so.
Taking small sips from the disgusting beverage she soon felt a presence pass her as a body entered through the kitchen entry way. This girl was blonde and extremely curvy, normally this would be one of the women Gen would eye up at a bar. Again, however, never mix work and play into one game. The results always ended up not in her favor.
The next person to push past Genevieve was the one who entered her room without permission. A low growl wanted to erupt in her throat at the thought of her just coming in, assuming she was needed. Gen though kept the desire down, with some difficulty, however. She heard more movement just outside the doorway and chose to move away from the entry point and moved towards the table.
Christian did say that she was to choose her spot at the table. More of the pack - the word holding some disgust inside her head - moved into the kitchen and Gen assumed that dinner would start soon. She did not take a seat immediately, instead gazed down at the tables and wondered where to sit. The only two she was at the very least comfortable with at the moment was Acacia and Christian. This was probably due to the fact they held authority in their presence and authority typically calmed the more anxious and quiet female.
As she decided upon her seat, she had finished her beer, already feeling the effects of alcohol. Typically she was not easily inebriated but without a meal in her all day the effects hit her quite easily. Returning back to the kitchen, she excused herself by Christian, opening the fridge to gain another beer before quickly returning to the table.
At the table she cracked her beer open, standing behind the chair directly to the left of the head of the table. She truly hoped to not be pushing her bounds by being too close with the blonde Alphess, but this was the only spot Gen would feel comfortable and at ease with. Anywhere else and she might lose more control, something she wished not to do on her first day here.
If Acacia followed her lead to the table as the majority of everyone was present in the kitchen, Gen would take a bold move - a bold, flirtatious move - and pull the seat in which the Alphess would seat. "For you, Ma'dam," speaking quietly, somewhat shyly and almost as if she was meaning to speak privately.
What could come over Genevieve to act so boldly. The excuse she would use would be the cheap alcohol she was drinking. The real reason, she was in the process of losing control and was taking it one step at a time, without even realizing it.
If Acacia did not follow her lead, then she would take her seat, lounging back into her chair. She would make sly glances at Acacia, and the other blonde female. What could Gen say, she had a thing for blondes.
Rayne could feel the annoyed aura that Gen had emitted when she had walked past, and now as she leaned against the smooth wall the woman's idea of her sank in. It was obvious that the red haired Lycan didn't have the best opinion of her, and the feeling made Rayne want to sink back into the wall and disappear. She had never had someone not like her before; in all her three hundred years alive nobody had held a grudge against her. She could feel the heat of embarrassment creep across her porcelain cheeks, not just from Genevieve's actions, but because she was standing alone while everyone else had someone to talk to. Her grey blue eyes were glued to her shoes, her hair cascading down around her face in tendrils to hide the flushed red on her face and hands tucked around her sleek abdomen. The only Lycan in the room that she felt comfortable around already was Christian, but he was busy with Acacia and...Genevieve, the woman who wouldn't exactly appreciate her presence at the moment. Other than that, Kari, another werewolf that she had become acquainted with, was talking to someone else who she didn't recognise. So Rayne had no choice but to stay glued to the wall looking awkward. She bit her lip.
"So, the food smells great, doesn't it?" A small voice came from beside her, Rayne sqeaked in surprised and shifted her head up in the voice's direction, her waterfall of chocolate brown hair being thrown away from her cheeks in the process, revealing the cheeks that had only just started to loose their heat, but they were still noticeable red, none the less. The barer of the voice was a Lycan names Willow, who was much, much younger than Rayne. But she was still glad that someone had approached her, she could've hugged the young girl, but instead gave her an embarrassed smile because of her squeak. "I'm glad you think so, Christian and I made dinner, so it should taste just as good as it smells." She said with a small chuckle, hoping that Willow wouldn't think of her as boastful, because as Rayne had just learnt, first impressions are everything.
From the corner of her vision she saw that a few people were starting to take their seats, causing Rayne to become nervous all over again. Where would she sit, where was it okay to sit? She blinked. Once again, she only felt comfortable sitting next to Christian or Kari, maybe Willow, so she would wait for them to sit down before she did. Rayne looked back to Willow, another smile plastered on her gentle face. "So, where do you want to sit?" She said, gesturing to the table with a wave of her slender hand, she would follow the younger Lycan to wherever she wanted to sit, unless it was next to Genevieve, in which case she would be quite hesitatant, but she would still follow.
