Lyra took her first steps up the driveway that lead to the house of the clan. She took a deep breath, calming herself. She couldn't remember the last time that she felt this nervous. What would they think of her? She checked her little piece of paper with directions on how to arrive here, written out by the council. Stuffing the paper into her pocket, Lyra continued up the driveway. She reached the front porch, pausing to see if she could stop anyone who might be apart of the clan. She didn't know if she should go up and ring the door bell or wait for someone to spot her.
Lyra decided to try the door bell, she didn't see the harm in it. She strolled up to the door, adjusting her posture and clothing before taking a deep breath and pressing the button. She heard a ring echo through the inside of the house as she waited for someone to answer.
Leader Xalia
If you ever need to contact me, send me a PM! I'm on about every single day :)
Xalia had been preoccupied with herself, finding that she was getting ready to head out towards the town, where she would find herself hunting for a human or two to feed off of. The leader wasn't fond of animal blood, it just didn't taste right to her, while human blood did. She savored the taste, but a little human food to go with wouldn't be too bad of an idea. She knew that she enjoyed herself some sweet treats, no matter how much she didn't need them. She couldn't gain weight from them that was for sure. The only amount of weight she had gained was when she gave birth to her son, Tavias. Her thoughts flickered towards her hybrid child, wondering just how well he was fairing with the Council. They had promised to give him back to her once they figured out what exactly it was about him that made him special. But she herself had no idea. She didn't know how the Lycan, Tavias' father, had gotten her pregnant. She thought that since humans could not seem to impregnate her, that surely Lycans wouldn't be able to either.
It was a fickle situation, something Xalia didn't wish to deal with right now. And as the doorbell rang, it brought her from her thoughts back to reality, seeing as she had a visitor. Was it a human coming to be her meal? That would save her the trouble of going into town to find one, and disposing of the body would be easy. But, as she caught the scent while approaching the door, she was slightly disappointed that it was a vampire. But she knew why the other was here. The Council was the only one that would give destinations to her location to another vampire, and if this one was trying to kill her, why not just break down the door instead of taking the time to actually ring a doorbell? Her gentle fingers slid over the doorknob, twisting and pulling to where the vampire was revealed. It was a girl, looking somewhat like Xalia did, although she was much more pale, and had tattoos as well.
"Hello, might I ask why you're at my door?" She said, leaning against the post as her blue eyes flashed red, flickering over the female as she let her fangs grow within her mouth, ready for a fight if necessary.
Lyra heard footsteps coming towards the door and caught the scent of the vampire. When the door opened, a women with somewhat similar features appeared in the doorway. She noticed that the female was observing her, then spoke, "Hello, might I ask why you're at my door?" Her eyes flashed red and continued to observe Lyra. Making sure to keep calm, Lyra assumed that this was the leader of the clan.
"Hello, the council sent me here. My name is Lyra." She spoke with a respectful tone, knowing that if this was the leader, she would not want to disrespect her. Thought started to stream through her head. What if I do something wrong? What if I don't get accepted. Lyra forced the negative thoughts out of her head. Now is not the time, focus on the matter at hand. She scanned the woman, taking in her features and noticed her top lip was a little pushed out. Her teeth must be elongated. Lyra didn't bring on any vampire features to make sure not to provoke the woman.
Leader Xalia
If you ever need to contact me, send me a PM! I'm on about every single day :)
Xalia looked towards the female vampire, eyeing her with the blood red eyes of her, revealing her fangs as she flashed a smile towards the other. "That Council, they don't ever tell me anything do they?" She mocked, letting her voice echo between the two before she let her eyes fall back to their original blue. "Well, I was just heading into town to find me a meal, would you like to accompany me, or would you rather stay here and get to know your surroundings and find yourself a room?" Xalia inquired, looking towards the new vampire. Truthfully, she didn't quite trust the new vampire within her home entirely, but she would display how important it was for this Lyra to be a little more considerate of not betraying the leader, or else she would have much more to think about after she realized she was going to be hunted for the rest of her life until Xalia got ahold of her. Stealing from Xalia would be her last, and most fatal mistake, but there wasn't much here that Xalia really cherished besides the pictures of her and her son that she had hidden within her room.
But more or less, she would show this vampire just how much she should stay loyal to the leader.
The leader flashed her fangs with a smile at Lyra. "That Council, they don't ever tell me anything do they?" she stated in a mocking way, which settled the air a little. Her eyes went back to their natural blue colour, which made Lyra relax a little. "Well, I was just heading into town to find me a meal, would you like to accompany me, or would you rather stay here and get to know your surroundings and find yourself a room?" Lyra's eyes lit up. Already, she was welcome to join the leader eat. Thinking about the offer of settling in first, Lyra decided to join for a meal. It had been a long trip to arrive here and she was hungry. She could settle in later, not like the house was going anywhere.
"I would be thankful to accompany you. I'll just leave my backpack here, if you don't mind." Lyra stated, keeping her formality. She wanted to make a good impression with her, especially since she didn't really know anything about her.
Xalia looked to the female, her stance relaxing against the doorframe as she stated that she was going to accompany the black haired leader into town to feast. And she stated that she would leave her backpack there, which amused Xalia and she stepped aside, beckoning for the female to leave her bag within the door. "I wouldn't worry too much about anyone taking your stuff, the Council has me living here all on my lonesome," She said, a playful tone to her voice. "Well up until now anyways," It was true, Xalia hadn't been accompanied by any vampires to the territory. She didn't mind, as living in solitude was something that she preferred, although company wasn't something that bothered her either. She'd accept Lyra's presence within her house at the very least, and would more than likely come to enjoy it when the time came that they would get to know each other.
"I'm guessing you drink human blood?" The leader asked, getting ready to sprint towards town. It would make for good exercise, even though she was still as fit as ever. She wanted to create conversation, and knowing what blood her new companion liked would be a major thought to keep in mind, considering some vampires were against killing humans. She didn't know why, they had been placed on this earth as had Vampires for the sole reason of keeping numbers in line. And a vampire didn't have to kill to drink anothers blood. But Xalia found killing her victims was much easier than trying to convince them not to tell others about her feasting upon them. It would cause an uproar among the humans, and lead them all to her front door, where she would be forced to kill them if they were to threaten her.
Xalia stepped aside, allowing Lyra to place her backpack inside the house. She stated that she wouldn't need to worry about her backpack in a playful tone. Lyra gave a slight smile, seeing that this leader would be fun to be around. It was nice how she was already easing up. It would allow Lyra to be more herself around her, instead of formal all the time. This thought made her a little excited for what was to come living here. Her thoughts were brought short when Xalia offered a guess to her preferred blood type.
Lyra nodded, "Yup, it's my favorite." Her tone was friendly. "I'm guessing you do too? You aren't one of those 'no killing humans' activists are you?" she asked playfully. She prepared herself to run along side her leader. She was excited to get to know her and have some blood in the process. She hadn't had a human meal in weeks and she could feel the hunger rising just thinking about it. Hunting has always been one of her favorite activities. When she was with her family, if she wasn't training or perusing an errand, she was hunting. Her parents made her hunt animals after a while, since they were already assassinating people for their job and the body count was climbing. As soon as she had left, she started hunting humans again. However stopped when she arrived at Toronto, since she didn't know the area all too well.
Xalia fiddled with her boot for a few moments, her outfit representing that of one that was extremely outdated, but suited her much more than normal clothes. She was only dressed up today simply because she wanted to hunt in her favorite outfit, and she didn't quite get to wear it all too often. It was a simple outfit she had gotten back when she had first fully matured into a vampire. It had boots that reached up till right above the knee, while black jeans underneath gave way to something of a similar color, tight against her skin. Her top was black with red linings, while a small skirt-like cloth flowed around her waist, and another hanging over her left shoulder. It was an old outfit, but it was simply her favorite.
Adjusting the hood to where it was fixed into a more comfortable and neat position, although it would more than likely be ruffled and out of place once they finished their little run into town. Lyra's response and question were of a playful manner, which Xalia liked. She didn't want to be too formal with living mates, so long as they knew of their place below her, which this female clearly did. If she hadn't she would've bared her fangs right back at Xalia and tried showing dominance over her. This was simply a casual conversation in which Xalia would indulge upon while it was there. "Oh hell no, I'd have hung myself with silver in the middle of a desert if that were the case," She joked about the Vampire's two weaknesses. Sun and Silver, the two combined would provide a hellish death, especially in the simplistic way she'd described it.
"We should get going however, all our food options might leave if we're too slow, are you going to be able to keep up?" The leader asked, eyeing her with eyes that spoke of pure playfulness, as well as a hint of calm dominance, something that was letting her stay at ease, while still holding her high position. She wouldn't await Lyra's response, as she quickly took off at a run, zipping down the long trail that lead to the front of her abode, and the only thing she would hear is the sound of the wind rushing past her, and the sound of footsteps beneath her as she ran, a small smile upon her lips as she made her way into an all too familiar hunting ground.
Lyra smiled at the joke about choosing a brutal death instead of not eating humans. She was already liking the leaders sense of humor, and she knew that they would be able to get along quite well. Xalia playfully challenged her before zipping off towards their destination. Lyra raised an eyebrow to the challenge, "Tch, you'll see." She muttered to herself with a playful grin. She burst into the direction her leader went, catching up to her quickly. The wind ran through her hair as it flowed behind her. Her black combat boots thumped across the ground. She smiled feeling the rush of running with another vampire beside her. The last time this happened, she was with her brother. She absorbed the adrenaline that was slowly building inside her.
She made sure to follow close to Xalia as they closed in on their destination.
She muttered innumerable curses as she darted across the street, risking being hit by a car in the process as she flitted around the road and hurriedly continued on. The sound of a car horn did not compare to the mumbling under her breath as she attempted to unravel a set of earbuds from around her neck.
She was going to be late! LATE! How could this happen? Really?
Eve was out of breath when she finally hit the last proverbial mile. When she finally came upon the house, the lights were on and she took that as a good sign. Late? Pah! Of course she wasn't late. In fact, she probably was right on time! Taking a moment to breathe deep and rearrange her ruffled clothing and tidy up her appearance, Eve composed herself as best she could before strolling towards the door.
"It's gonna be great. Entirely. No sweat. Vampires don't drink vampire blood, geez, that'd be stupid..." Giving herself a pep talk under her breath, Eve rapped quietly on the door.
... And then she knocked a little harder.
... And then she rang the doorbell.
And then, with a little frown, she plopped herself down on the steps, a rather pitiful expression one she wore. I really am late, aren't I...
She sulked on the stoop, her elbows squared on her knees as she frowned and pondered and basked in the misery of, well. Failing. It was about ten or twenty minutes later when (while nursing her head in her hands) a thought occurred to her. Sitting outside of the manor surely wouldn't do anyone - least of all Eve herself - any good. And not only that, but what if her new Tutor was somewhere deep within the manor where a doorbell or doorknock could not be heard? Or rather, what if this was all a test irregardless... where the sheepish of vampires might be left milling around the entrance when the truer sort, the more courageous, would venture within?
After many moments of contemplation in which Eve sucked on her bottom lip, she relinquished herself to fate. Rising and dusting off the dirt and dust from the hem of her dress, she approached the door. Knocking once more, she then tried the door knob.
Xalia had brought a rather large group back with her, and she'd not have thought that her small trip into the Neutral Territories would be so eventful. Especially with her meeting Jace, as well as the others that were there. It was obviously nice to see that Liam was still trudging away at his job, and that the male hadn't ceased his career quite yet, but she did worry for him a little bit. He was her favorite human. Not to mention, he didn't fine her at all for anything that she ordered. Her head tilted slightly as she brought it back around, rolling her neck similarly in a smooth motion that allowed her to feel the muscles ripple underneath. Her black curly hair rolled with, and she brought her eyes upon the home that she'd known only to be hers for the time being. She caught the scent of other Vampires there, and immediately let out a small hiss towards the house, knowing that someone had barged in.
"It seems I have some unexpected guests whom have barged into my home," Xalia said, turning towards her new clanmates, her eyes flashing red as her senses to protect her home took over. She didn't want to greet them to their home with an attack, that was for sure, so she instead make her way into the house, seeing as the door was open, but thankfully Lyra's stuff had remained untouched.
Lyra followed close behind Xalia and the smell of new vampires within the house hit her like a wall. She immediately felt tension as she knew that Xalia wasn't happy. Lyra's eyes flashed red as she remembered she had placed her belongings in there before the trip to the city. Her eyes looked back at Xalia as she addressed the situation. Realizing how many vampires were their, the newcomers could have a really bad situation on their hands. Subconsciously, Lyra cracked one of her knuckles, as she was very protective over her belongings. She would be quite upset if someone had touched them.
Walking up the steps to the porch, Lyra waited for Xalia to enter first. As the door opened, she saw that her backpack hadn't moved and she started to relax, her eyes returning to her same blue-grey. She hoped that these new vampires wouldn't do anything rash, for their sake.
Jackal couldn’t help but chuckle to himself as he was reminded of what Dru had said to him, how easy it was to pull at another’s strings with simple words, poking at their squishy parts, and get them to reply with harsher words then the one who started it. He had gotten a reaction out of her, and oh how much he enjoyed getting a reaction, it was as easy as taking candy from a baby, well she was one in his eyes, a brat who couldn’t keep her mouth shut.
The lanky two fanged male carelessly walked towards the house, with little care at his slow speed compared to the others, he knew he was fast and he didn’t need to prove it to anyone and so instead strolled with a god like stride towards the house. Hands within his pockets and hood slumped over his head. Cars and people would pass him with little acknowledgement to his existence, and he walked past them with no acknowledgement to theirs, it was a strange feeling to Jackal for the modern era were slightly more oblivious then there ancestors who went around looking for witches to burn and searching for lycans and vampires under the full moon. But then again there were those who still looked for his kind, forever searching.
Finally the man had come to the house, and little surprised him about the two new vampires who had entered Xalia’s home, their scents noticeable against Lyra’s and Xalia’s.
“Looks like this ain’t going to be boring after all.”
With a scoff the male vamp headed inside to watch it all unfold.
As she approaches the house, Vivian takes the time to look around - the place certainly seemed welcoming, lights glowing warmly from the inside, and she could see herself making a home here. It couldn't be terrible, at least. Even better, though, was the expanse of woods she could see surrounding a good portion of the house. The scent of herbs, both familiar and calming, brush against her senses, and she lets a small smile curve her lips. If there was one thing that never failed to bring her down to earth, so to speak, it was healing, if only because it required care and concentration that some others found useless. Carrying her suitcase up the front porch steps, she listens to Xalia's hissing voice from inside with only mild disconcertion.
After all, the chances of any intruder overpowering her are remarkably slim. Otherwise, she wouldn't be clan leader.
Stepping inside the ajar door, she shuts it behind her (though leaves it unlocked, for others who may show up) and walks inside, placing her suitcase somewhere it wouldn't get in the way as she paces, cat-footed, into the kitchen. She didn't particularly care about the current going-ons, but it was where others were headed - even if she had no interest in interfering, it still payed to know what was going on.
