'Catching a human… They don't... really… do that do they?'
The young woman made a benign attempt to overlook the suggestion of her new found companion. Perhaps erroneously, Eve had come into the realm of the paranormal with an open mind and fairly hopeful heart. While she knew the stories that books and movies and plays painted of the creatures that lurked on the fringes of society, she still extended to them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe vampires were not so villainous? Maybe they weren't so murderous?
If she had to - no. If she needed to, could she kill someone?
She asked herself the question and could not hide her troubled expression. Contemplating it on the way to the kitchen, she nearly forgot the "boorishness" of such morose thoughts given her companion. Patting Crystal's arm and shaking free whatever dour disposition that had threatened to be besmirch her, Eve turned to idle conversation. "So you've been a vampire all your life... Is it different than being a human child? Are there vampire schools? Colleges? Universities?" She asked, before yet another question occurred to her: what do vampires aspire to be? Would it be different than what little boys and girls, mundane and human in every way, aspire to be? Did little vampires still want to be superheroes and firefighters and princesses and doctors? "What do vampires do? Are we really immortal? Or is that just rumour…"
Letting go of Crystals arm when they entered the kitchen, Eve began to inspect the cabinets for dried goods. "Was Dracula real? As a vampire, I mean."
Xalia could hear the clamoring from her kitchen, she was already on edge, but this was truly something that she had expected. Not only were they raiding her home, they were also making themselves at home while they were doing it. Letting out a small hiss, the leader made her way towards the entrance of the kicthen, where she peered in, letting her blood red eyes glance over towards the females that were in her kitchen, and by far, it didn't seem like either knew how to cook. Letting out a small growl as she realized that they were cooking what she'd decided upon to have as a dinner of sorts tonight by herself, she quickly made herself known as she launched at the closest female vampire, grabbing the knife of the counter that she'd been cutting with and holding it to her neck as Xalia's fangs were very, very apparent against her peeled back lips. "Might I ask what the both of you are doing in my home, cooking my food, and dirtying my dishes?" She emphasized the word my verbally, her muscles coiling as she pressed the knife into the others neck, knowing that one quick slice would leave the other in a little bit of pain, even if the wound were to heal later on.
Xalia was no one to deal with intruders. She absolutely hated when anyone thought that her property could just be walked upon by them without her consent, especially if she wasn't there. These vampires, even if they were sent by the Council. Had to idea of the grave mistake they'd made. They'd threatened her by disrespecting her, and not waiting for her to return home, instead, they waltzed right in and cooked her food, they could have stolen something from her for all she knew, and she let out a small growl at the thought, letting her grip upon the knife grow firm as she awaited, red eyes glaring into the others, awaiting her answer as to why she was in Xalia's house, and in her kitchen cooking.
The male would bring himself into the house, grey orbs peering at the interior of Xalia’s place, gazing at what lay within the modern home. It was then did he chuckle as a car would park in the drive way, heels clacking against the earth as they made their way to the front door.
“Why sweet heart, perfect timing.” He smiled before turning round to face the blonde who slyly grinned in return. “I thought you wouldn’t make it.” His eyes trailed down her figure for she carried an expensive purse in one hand and held the handle of a suit case in the other. Batting her lashes she replied. “Well of course I would come darling.”
Jackal had many connections having lived for so many years, and this female was only one of thousands of vampires in which he knew. She owed him from their previous encounter they had a few years back and now having brought his car and a bunch of clothes her debt was paid.
“Anything else?” She asked him, as she would look over her shoulder, having already turned round to leave. “That would be all.” He stated before watching her leave the house and off to where ever.
The male vampire would chuckle to himself before moving the suit case to the side so it was out the way, he would then enter the kitchen making little to no noise as his gaze landed on the two new vampires, one being held by the neck by Xalia, knife at the throat. Jackal would cross his arms over his chest as he watched with interest, curious of where this was headed.
Vivian walks silently into the kitchen, leaning inconspicuously against a counter as she glances about. Xalia had a knife to some vampire's throat, lips peeled back in a clear display of annoyance if not anger. She's rather pretty, Is her first thought, though it is with the same tone one might say the sky is blue or Earth revolves around the Sun. It held no personal inflection, it just was. In fact, her entire countenance was notably distant; she looked on as if it were a scene from a movie - she registers what is happening, analyzes and works through it, but also acknowledges that it doesn't particularly affect her in the grand scheme of things.
Absently the vampire pushes a strand of hair out of her face, eyes drifting aimlessly about the room; she didn't need to look at them to know what was going on. Maybe she pauses a beat when Jackal comes into her line of vision - he was curious, merely because she had heard him speak with some stranger outside - but it lasts only a moment before she loses interest and draws her attention back to Xalia and the two other females. Hm, looked like they were going (trying) to cook something; maybe she should get something to eat as well. Not from here, though; once she was settled in maybe there'd be someone taking the long route home that she could catch unawares. Hmm... Her tongue glides over her fangs, cloudy blue eyes staring at nothing and everything all at once.
Lyra Moonfall
Some people are born with tragedy in their blood.
Lyra followed Xalia into the kitchen and heard a growl come from Xalia before she launched herself at the closest vampire, holding a knife to her throat. She's fast, I wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Lyra slightly smirked at her thought. Her expression quickly dissolved as Xalia started questioning the vampires. Observing what the two females had been doing, Lyra questioned who in their right mind would go into someones house and start cooking like it was their own. Subconsciously, Lyra's fangs grew and her eyes became cold. She stood back with the other vampires who had come, but she was ready to fight. These vampires would have to chose their next words very carefully if they didn't want to be hurt. Lyra narrowed her eyes as she remembered her switch blade that rested in her boot. It was a gift from her father when he started their assassinating business. Many different kinds of blood left their host because of this blade, and she wouldn't mind if she had to use it again. Though, she couldn't unless Xalia made the call.
Dru had pulled up in her lovely car, but as soon as she stepped out, she knew something was wrong. There were foreign scents covering the porch. Leaving her suitcase in her locked car, she blitzed into the house following the newer scent of Xalia and the scents of the vampires from the bar. She came in behind the redhead from the bar (Vivian) and stepped up beside her. Her arms crossed as she surveyed the scene in front of her with cold eyes. Without realizing it, her own fangs grew as well as her instincts to protect her leader. However, she knew it wouldn't be necessary, she had the whole situation under control. She had a knife to one of the girl's throats, but her eyes flooded red when she saw that the other one could potentially attack Xalia. She doubted they would risk it though, it was five pissed vampires to two idiotic intruders.
Something tickled her nose, it was the two intruders' scents. She turned her head slightly, and her nostrils flared as she tracked the scents without moving. They'd certainly made themselves comfortable, knowing this made her territorial instincts kick in. She could feel her muscles tensing, anticipating a fight. The dagger at her hip was a comfortable weight, practically begging her to pull it out to defend Xalia. She kept still though, it wasn't her home to defend yet. She couldn't help the snarl building in her throat however, she kept her mouth firmly closed as the snarl rumbled in her chest. Xalia could handle it, but just in case, she had four more vampires behind her to back her up.
Xalia's gaze sharpened upon the female as she spoke. "Even if there was someone in the house, you can't just come barging in, thinking that it'll be alright for you to do so. If I were home, you would have been dead the instant you stepped foot inside my house," She growled out, bringing the knife down and letting it settle against the kitchen counter. "You're very naive for glaring at my clan members, I could have your throat for that," She said, having noticed the small glare. "You were sent by the Council, but the Council has no jurisdiction over what happens within my clan home, and actions that I take upon intruders, remember that," She said, before taking a step back.
She let her fangs slowly slide back to the way they had been, and her eyes converted back to the blue she usually had. "But, if you're so inclined to make dinner, then I guess you can cook for the ones whom haven't eaten yet, myself and Lyra here," She pointed towards Lyra, the first to arrive. "Are famished since we didn't get to hunt while in town," Xalia then brought herself towards the doorway to the lounge, wanting to head upstairs to adorn some comfier attire for the evening, and she looked over towards Jackal, the only male currently within the house with them. "Don't have too much fun with all the ladies while I'm upstairs," She chuckled, giving him a sly little wink before making her way upwards towards her room.
The man was really hoping for a good brawl, it had been too long since he had been in one, and he missed the adrenalin one got from it. But never the matter, the leader handled herself well, and it pleased him that he wasn’t following someone other than her who didn’t know what they were doing, it seemed the man had an eye for these things, capable of telling whether one was up for the job or not, and to him she seemed able to hold her own and keep everyone in line.
A pale hand went to scruff his hair up slightly, lowering his hood in the process, slate grey eyes watching the leader head through the doorway.
"Don't have too much fun with all the ladies while I'm upstairs,"
He laughed, replying with a sly grin of his own. “Of course not.” He answered with fake innocence, though he knew she would see through it, he was just having too much fun with all this. With all these females around it was too difficult not have a little fun, though they would have to wait, or actually he would have to wait. “Well you heard her ladies, better get on with dinner.”
Jackal turned round, heading through the door to explore the rest of the house while its owner remained upstairs.
She doesn't react much when another with long red hair stands beside her. She very obviously didn't mean her any harm, so there wasn't any need to move away from her or anything like that. She instead listens to the girl's (Crystal's) story, nose wrinkling a bit at the mention of the Council - she hadn't exactly had pleasant experiences with them (or at least, one of them) after all. About to turn and leave, as it appeared that violence weren't about to break out, she pauses when she hears a snarl humming threateningly in the chest of the woman next to her (Dru). She doesn't pause out of fear though, since it wasn't directed at her (even if it had been, she probably wouldn't have reacted too much anyways) but rather out of mild concern. The majority of everyone was taking the whole thing pretty calmly, all things considered, even the girl with the knife at her throat. So, when the woman (Dru) began to display visible signs of aggression - maybe she was just protective? - she lightly touches her shoulder to get her attention and furrows her brows in a silent question. Are you okay?
Well, maybe she wasn't perfectly clear, but she did hope the message got across. She wasn't very fond of speaking, and charades definitely wasn't worth the effort. Only half of her attention remains on the quickly dispersing scene; Xalia putting the knife down and telling the intruders to cook, Jackal exiting the room soon after her. For a moment she contemplates the glare that the short-haired woman (Crystal) had sent her way, but figured it was more out of annoyance than any tangible anger, and therefore nothing to worry about.
OOC: Vivian makin friends. Er...well...something like that Cx Addressed: Dru Riley
Dru's towering frame nearly reached the ceiling, so she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed as the intruder Xalia held captive gave her two cents. "I should probably tell you the 'full' story. I was waiting outside, and me being me, I got impatient. I knew someone was inside, but they weren't answering the door. I wasn't thinking straight, so I hurled myself in." At this, Dru snorts. 'This girl is an idiot, I would've killed her if it were my home.' As if reading her mind, Xalia growled at the idiot girl, "Even if there was someone in the house, you can't just come barging in, thinking that it'll be alright for you to do so. If I were home, you would have been dead the instant you stepped foot inside my house," Dru watches as Xalia sets the knife down, Dru's hang immediately flies to her dagger in case the girl tries to get the Mistress back. She notices the girl, who couldn't be more than 14, have the audacity to glare at her and the others. Unable to help herself, she winks at the cocky brat after mouthing 'bite me' and blowing her a kiss.
Smirking, she turns her attention back to the matter at hand. The girl mentioned Eve, the other girl that had intruded. Dru's eyes flicked to her, scanning for a threat. She couldn't find any, but didn't take her eyes off of the younger woman. Xalia soon dismissed the two informing them that they were to prepare dinner. Xalia headed towards them and upstairs, saying to Jackal "Don't have too much fun with all the ladies while I'm upstairs," She avoids a scoff knowing that she wouldn't dare should it anger Xalia more. The Lady of the house headed upstairs quickly followed by Jackal. The girl she had stood beside, touched her shoulder lightly, her eyes asking the silent question, Are you okay? She nods, "Just protective," She glances at the intruders skeptically before heading upstairs to claim her bedroom of choice.
Lyra heard a small growl from one of the vampires who had come in. Her eyes looked at the vampire, observing her red hair. Dru, I think it's good to not get on her bad side. Lyra's head turned back to her leader. When the young girl flashed a glare in her direction, Lyra responded by flashing her eyes red for a few seconds and grinning, showing her fangs before retracting them. She smiled when Xalia put them to cook as she was very hungry. She yawned and realized how tired she actually was. Seeing the others trail out of the room, she hoped that she would be able to get to know more people over dinner. Observing everyone and what kind of character they were, she believes that this will be a strong clan who will stand up for each other.
Vivian could hear movement upstairs, probably the others getting settled in. She should follow their example, if only for something to do; claiming a room and unpacking would at least take up some of her time. Then afterwards she could go to town for a meal, or see if there was anything of interest in the surrounding woods. Absently running a hand through her hair, she nods to herself. At least it would keep the boredom threatening to creep in at bay. She just had to go to the lounge and grab her suitcase before going upstairs.
Before she walks into the other room, she pauses when the male - she couldn't quite recall his name, she didn't remember it being spoken yet - speaks up, addressing her. She can't really help but wonder why, since she was pretty sure they had nothing to talk about. Well, ignoring him would be rude, and she was already heading into the lounge anyways, so...with a small sigh, she continues on her way.
